Thread: Ghostleech / Schwarzleech Tutorial + Ghost Leech Mods

  1. #16

It's still safe if you use this trick only in torrents with many peers and if you change your ip before you start your download again...

    @Mr. Jones

Butcho, I had no idea this mod even existed on here.....must passed me by completely.

    I'm gonna try this.

    though I've got a question:

Why the necessity of changing IP 2X when your hidden within the pack of other peers??

Would some trackers not already have logged your IP simply upon you entering thier site??

In addition, the ghostleech that I just downloaded is uT GhostLeech v 1.60, BUT it emulates a different version or uTorrent, correct??

Yes there are different versions which sends other ut versions.
I change my ip the first time because i've loaded the torrent with it and send the event=started to the tracker (that my download starts)
After that i leave the http site, remove the url in my client and change my ip.
It's safer because a staff member could find out which peer ip is in his client but not in the peerlist at the tracker.
If i've downloaded all i renew my ip again that i can visit the http site on my tracker again without getting caught because using my ghostleech ip.

Bear in mind that high-level trackers (like ScT) can detect this method.

Yes, but if they look for the IP that visited the tracker inside the swarm or peerlist they won't find it, as you'll be using a new one to download from peers.

    • Ghost Mod uTorrent 1.6.exe - based on uT 1.6, doesn't send the started and completed flag.
    • Ghost Mod uTorrent 1.6 emulate ut161.exe - based on uT 1.6, doesn't send the started and completed flag. Emulates uT 1.6.1
    • Ghost Mod uTorrent 1.6 emulate ut176.exe - based on uT 1.6, doesn't send the started and completed flag. Emulated uT 1.7.6

I'd say you use the second one, because while 1.6.1 is the last version before BitTorrent Inc. picked up development, 1.6 and 1.7.5 don't have anything "special" about them.

    thanks both of you.

    ONe other question:

Is this going to overwrite the genuine uT.exe?

I have found that on previous occasions, when I downloaded the SBI packs of uT, they had always overwritten the genuine uT.

I personnally don't like that as I'd like to keep the genuine .exe.

Though I guess I could have re-named the .exe to something else; however, I think that it would still have over-written the genuine uT.exe regardless as the installer still would have gone directly to the C/Program Files section as there existed no option to install in an alternate folder.

Now, as above...will the ghostleech over-write the genuine .exe??
I hope not as I don't really want that.
I'd like to keep one seperate from the other.

You can follow this tutorial to make sure it doesn't overwrite the official uTorrent, and also be able to run more than one mod at the same time.

EN: Another method of improving this and getting rid of the necessary IP change, is to use a socks proxy both for browsing (dling torrent-file) and HTTP announce.
By doing this, there is no way they can connect your tracker-profile and Peer-adress.

    DE:
