This could be really good if they do it well. The Joker is a very complex character - he's crazy, but far from stupid.
the trailer apparently missed all of this and they already failed at believability by showing a caring mother or a sensitive son, which most definitely doesn't create psychopathic monsters, as well as the late age at which the joker starts his transformation - as for the acting, phoenix is good, at least while playing a sad suffering victim, but that is someone else, not the jokerQuote:

The only thing that makes me nervous is that this is either gonna really good or really bad. There will be no in between. However, I do love the fact that it looks like the movie is going to make you really empathize with him, as most of the movies just make him out to be villainous without much reason or explanation behind it.
Look good. :D can't wait
I like the fact that, according to the trailer, this movies is being made with drama in mind and not action/hero movie type. Has a lot of potential to be a good one, let's see.
1) at least i don't see jared leto again as joker ,
2) to many joker movies in last years,to still have a kickback
3) movie made to squizze even more the gotham characters money cow
4) smells like a movie made for cash grabbing
Joaquin Phoenix looks fit for the joker role - by visual only - idk the acting
Expectation : I expect an uncomplete joker again with bolding script over drama - that will deliever half of what is promising and wil let the viewer somehow like after a blowjob without orgasm + joker story is never complete without batman - cuting batman from the story - joker character has no deeper meaning beside beng a crazy clown - no mather how many filmakers tries to spin it
I just watched this movie today , I like it , but it reminds me movies like Taxi Driver and The network.
I downloaded a CAM of this some days ago, something which I hadn't done in a long time, but haven't watched it yet.
I just watched it on cinema last thursday. Fantastic movie. Exceeded my expectations.
made me want to watch after people considered that the movies should be banned from cinema because the violent content
People are idiots! I'd rather watch a violent movie that to read/watch about mass shooting's in USA!
The violence is not as bad as any other movie nowadays in my opinon
the huge amount of violent movies, as well as violent contents in the entertainment industry and the media in general is used to desensitize people to violence, to make them more likely to adopt violent viewpoints, behavior or support violent solutions - the same applies to any other kind of immoral contents, it means creating a 'culture' of violence and immoralityQuote:

it is said that 'you are the company you keep' - so if your company of choice is 'violent entertainment', don't be surprised when it starts affecting your judgement
i've watched this movie finally
what i can say : i couldn't understand why people considered this to violent or dark
for me beside the Joaquin Phoenix deep involvment in character aka good acting in role, i couldn't say much- the script is average and also has gaps in timelines for me
for ex : when arthur meet bruce wayne in front of wayne manor gate - that scene shouldn't exist because : let's say joker had around 30 years and bruce 7 years old - if we consider bruce wayne turned batman let's say around 20 ( but i will say later)that will mean considering this timeline batman will confront joker when joker will be an old fart with the age between 45-50
the only thing taken in consideration is that the movie builds up a lil bit the joker background - joker being wayne son - aka step brother with bruce aka batman and how Joker started to be popular and people started to follow him + why the Joker is the Worthiest Adversary
the shitty thing from this Joker movie - is that Joker is portraited like a loonatic with serious mind problems , just a bullied victim and only just that - i mean i hate that in this movie that they stripped joker Cunningness, intelligence and bolded only his antisocial personality disorders mixed with criminal insanity making him more an average psychopath killer and less a Supervillain
last : the scene with joker in the back seat of the cop car looking over window is copied from The Dark Knight Heath Ledger joker
the murders were often brutal (killing the helpless mother or the colleague) and uncalled for (killing all the wall street brats, the tv show host), the killer taking pleasure in such deeds or making fun of it or easily getting away with itQuote:

no, that was just a tease, when happy/joker snatched those asylum documents, they revealed that he was adopted and not related to the wayne family - the (step)mother had a disorder where she imagined a relationship with bruce's fatherQuote:
- joker being wayne son -
they call it deconstruction: take a character people are familiar with, turn him upside down or pervert him in some way, bribe the critics ie. start up the propaganda/hype machine and sell that to the audienceQuote:

as if that wasn't bad enough, happy was supposed to be a stand up comedian and a clown, yet all his jokes were a failure and the clown performances rather poor - even when acting as the joker, what he does is not really funny - so both of his names are a joke, his job was a joke, his abilities yet another joke, etc. - seems the joke was on the viewers
i think banshee tv show had more brutal murders than this ,could put the murders from joker equal with the one's from Boardwalk Empire maybe, but nobody get their eyes rolled overthere + depicting the sociopath wich kills his mother ,enjoys his kills and so on is often depicted in the same way no mather the tv show or movie - it's almoust a Cliché in hollywood along with the somebody getting bullied - the nasty world depicted i didn't even taken to consideration since i was more ofuscated about turning a supervillan in an average sociopath killer joe condimented on his character only with this " happy was supposed to be a stand up comedian and a clown, yet all his jokes were a failure and the clown performances rather poor - even when acting as the joker, what he does is not really funny - so both of his names are a joke, his job was a joke, his abilities yet another joke, etc. - seems the joke was on the viewers"Quote:

yes but this part i think was let to viewer interpretation on wich side do you believe : her side - or Wayne Side that could doctored the documents ,being a billionaire and not wanting to destroy his familly ,marriage for an adventure - but mostly wanted to point out that this part could be cool and adding some logic in why the most equal and rutless enemy for batman was Joker considering back when supervillans appeared they had no background they where just supervillansQuote:

bottom line : the whole movie was shit with 10% interesting parts - even Jared Leto Joker ( wich was the worst) , had more character)
The movie relied heavily on Phoenix's performance and he was actually really good in it. If you told me its wasn't in the Batman universe and just another movie, i would have believed you. But it was mostly the protagonist, everything else was just ok. An 8/10 for me
I haven't watched it yet, but I'm here to post this.

Such a good movie. Hope it inspires more just like it
The movie was definitely awesome, but in my view, the origin was pretty wacko. It wasnt comic accurate, and while I am not complaining, its definitely a good one that is shown in this movie, but I liked the one in the Killing Joke by Alan Moore.
The acting was a bit off for me, overall great, but I think Heath Ledger portrayed a more comic accurate version with that maniacal laugh. This movie's laugh was more of a medical condition, and its definitely a new take, while not the one that I like too much.
But the ending definitely was great, we dont get to know whether the full movie happened in Joker's mind or not....it definitely a new take, and overall, I like it.
His acting level of sociopath are amazing
it's totality of acting performance, i would speechless if i see it live
