That was discussed in the last few pages of this very thread, and http://www.sb-innovation.de/showthread.php?p=362871 supplies extra specifics.
How to setup uTorrent for 1Gbps and HDD storage?
I noticed qBittorrent downloads practically at hardware limits. That's about 80~90 MB/s, dropping occasionally to 60 MB/s. That's about 20 GB in 5 minutes.
uTorrent rarely gets above 10 MB/s. That's about 3 GB in 5 minutes.
If more tests are needed I can do it but I think it's mostly because of settings. Speed graphs clearly indicate the same pattern of filling up the cache (RAM), speed drops to practically 0, data is written down on HDD, and repeat.
Thanks.
Is there a way to spoof other client? GGn announced banning uTorrent completely, and leaving only rTorrent and libTorrent-based qBitttorrent as choice. I presume other trackers will do the same.
The only thing you can spoof in a non-detectable way is other versions of uTorrent, which requires manually patching the executable and obviously would not be a solution here in any case. I can only recommend BiglyBT Extreme Mod, which is able to spoof any client other than rTorrent, and has many other features.
Let's not get ahead of ourselves. GGn's reasons were relatively specific to them, and issuing a blanket ban on a client that is still very popular and accepted (almost) everywhere is a major hindrance to both users and site operators.Quote:
