I'm currently testing 2 strategies with 2 PTP Accounts:
1. Account 1 only downloads freeleeches for torrents above 40GB + some cross-seeding of very large torrents I found elsewhere. This account doesn't cheat on DL or UL.
2. Account 2 only downloads freeleeches for torrent below 10GB, (the median torrent has a size of 3GB). This account does cheat on UL.
I write all data in a spreadsheet to compare them.
Account 1 costs me little time. PTP often has freeleeches (FL) on huge torrents (>80GB). These are gold mines, I downloaded 1TB with less 15 torrents). But 40GB FL bluray is the bulk of what I download.
I stopped this strategy after 8 months: the account became a milk cow and is fully "autonomous".
I now collect 800K of points per month, that's 300 GB per month.
Incidentally, while writing this, I realized that, over 2 months, my points increased by 150K a month, obviously due to people deleting their FL torrents after their UL potential was exhausted.
Since I started to use VEM in June, I can now also delete data (my strategy required a lot of HDD) and cheat with the "show as seed" option. I now earn 800K with little HDD data)
If a torrent has less than 5 seeders, I prefer to delete it (sorry points), If someone downloads such torrent, I wouldn't have any data to UL and that could raise suspicions.
Account 2 costs me a lot of time, all the time, (I manually pick freeleeches 2/3 times a day).
The first 5 weeks, I averaged 80GB of real UL per week plus an additional of 30-50% of fake UL. I decided that was too much. I now fake 10-20% of the real UL.
In terms of bonus points, this strategy is totally useless. I delete the torrents after mandatory seedtime is complete.
I may be a bit soon to jump to conclusion (the strategy on account 2 is still a bit young), but at this point:
Account 2 is clearly the winner in terms of GB earned. But It takes way too much time. It's not sustainable in the long term. But on occasion, if you need extra GBs, it will work.
But because I'm lazy, I stick to account 1.
Note: Both accounts were managed from dedicated laptops connected to 2 dedicated 1000/1000 MBits fiber connection.
account 1 uses a laptop with a couple of 3 TB USB HDDs.
account 2 uses a laptop with one 160 GB SSD only.
A last comment regarding uploading your own torrents:
A year ago, I uploaded 1 bluray, (32GB) and its remux (28GB).
the bluray was picked 2 times; the remux, none.
here are the rewards after a year:
bluray: 50GB of UL + 172GB of seeding points = 222 GB (and still 14 GB per month)
remux: 0GB of UL + 268GB of seeding points = 268 GB (and still 22 GB per month)
Not bad for a torrent that nobody wants!
