me too,
i won't trust something like, never ever, you don't know what can they steal or do with 'your permission'
i now use IDM and happy with that
i used to do the 'copy the biggest temp file from firefox' but its not working anymore, looks like YT did something against that or maybe i am browsing the wrong folder now
You can try Abelssoft Youtube Song downloader
Abelssoft - YouTube Song Downloader
It also allows you to download only the audio as mp3
Since you have supereasy Greasemonkey scripts for firefox, I'd call the use of Safari just to save it (when usually using firefox) completely unnecessary :P
I'm using jDownloader for this, if I mark an youtube-link the program ask directly in which format it should be saved (.mp3, .avi, .flv, ...) !!!
...works really great.
Cya, Terrorizer

A bit too slow for me. I'd use Java-based stuff if there was no other way of getting the videos, but I've already found a program (YouTube Downloader HD).
jdownloader's youtube features are handy in case it's running anyway
You're not on an Athlon XP 3000+.
To be honest, Java apps lag the first time they're run in my PC, but then they load fast. I guess the JRE goes to the disk cache after the first time or something.
