There's not much else to say, my point is that his wording was ultimately ambiguous. We'd generally expect big, drastic and dramatic changes after hearing that phrase, but it could mean anything. Technically speaking, none of us leaves the same way we entered after doing any activities - in my case, I left the mall less hungry than when I entered :k3:
It's like saying "the world has changed a lot since the last decade"; it has, but then again it has changed a lot since last week too, or maybe it actually hasn't changed at all. It all depends on what you define as the world and what sort of changes we're talking about.
Fufufu, tell me about it. My best friend got a girlfriend during the 2008 summer break and when we came back to school, I lost him completely. They were inseparable whenever they were in the same room, and as you can imagine, this meant there was never any airtime left for me or our group :gnoes: To top it off, this would be the last time we'd ever share a classroom, as later on we'd get placed on different classes based on the career/specialization we chose (mine was computer science, he picked liberal arts). At least this gave me the opportunity to connect and do more things with my other friends.Quote:
Also; you guys ever felt like you're slowly losing your best friend cause their SO is "in the way" ?
The same happened with one of my coworkers last year, we'd basically see him once a week if we were lucky (yes, attendance controls at my old job were very lax). Even though this resulted on more work being pushed on me and the rest of the team, I was patient and looked the other way, because wanting to spend time with your new girlfriend isn't exactly a terrible sin, and ultimately there was nothing else I could do anyway. Most of the others were less understanding, which I can't blame them for either...
Anyway, just bide your time until they are less lovestruck so to speak, and things will work themselves out.It may take yearsEverything will be fine.
LOL.
But yeah. It sucks.
The annoying part is that she keeps asking me to hang out with her and then doesn't show.
When I talk to her about it, she's always like "well I told you I was going to be busy all weekend".
Well, yeah, but you also said you wanted to hang during some free time in-between (not to mention i hate feeling like being that person that fills up the time in-between timeslots)
I'm not gonna keep bitching about it though, since she's not actually doing anything wrong and it's not weird that you want to be around your girlfriend. But it's nice to see others feel the same way. I never really mind or care when it's a casual friend, but you really feel replaced when it's your bestie.
the world (naturally, the materialistic world) changes constantly in very minute intervals, thus it has certainly changed - this change occurs everywhere within the world (universe), thus it does change a lot even in a very short period of time, however we do not perceive all this since it happens on a 'microscopic level'Quote:

"He is good at selling snake oil" is something no one will ever say about me =]
Been there, done that. Eventually that excuse will become stale and you'll be hearing things like "I meant 'next Saturday' as in next week, not this one!".Quote:

Anyway, as I said, just give them time.
Well, this just proves what I said :wtongue: You're thinking on a very big scale, where mere seconds are enough to have massive changes. That's in line with the first half of the paragraph you quoted. But if you use a narrower/less literal definition of world, then changes could be minimal. For example, has "the world of soft drinks" changed much since yesterday? Unless a new flavor of cola I'm not aware of has been launched, then likely not, it's just business as usual.
Does this mean my advice is wrong :gredface:Quote:

of course, if you want to use different definitions, then just about any kind of conclusion can be made, like the one when 'the world' becomes 'the world of soft drinks' heheQuote:

As person who also lives in a third world country devasted by late development, archaic laws, high analphabetism rates, coarse/vulgar/poor/inferior culture and corruption everywhere, I understand what you say. And this year we have an important election (for president) let's see what will happen. Just today the favorite candidate has been stabbed by a left winger while he was doing a political rally in the crowd. He's been hospitalized and seems to be out of danger for now.

I saw that in the news, crazy shit. Goes to prove there's fanatism on all sides. And threats of a military coup, as I recall seeing on TV last year, have no room in a democratic country.
Our big election is next year. Current polls now show plummeted support for the current president and top ratings for the biggest opposing party, but polls can be made to say anything, it all depends on who makes them and how they show the information. Besides, most people only remember the last few weeks before the elections anyway.
I know, I know, there is no escape from it as long as we're in the materialistic world :wtongue: With that said, the oh so corrupt Western Europe, Scandinavia and even the United States at least have a stable currency, the average citizen fares better than in here and doesn't have to worry about his situation pulling a 180 if a different party is elected.
And with that said, the current trend of advertising and appeals to emotion being stronger than reason or policy is as global as it is sickening.
their wealth was foolishly built on the suffering of others, the karmic price of which they will have to pay and are already paying in various waysQuote:

unhealthy desires for power and domination are supported by the undiscriminating average citizen who only wants a better life, for which he is apparently prepared to make a pact with the devil
an actual 180 would be good idea considering the consequences of such behavior
reason won't help if one's basic values are distorted, since reasonable excuses will be made to support the distorted valuesQuote:

policy won't help if it is being prepared by corrupt leaders or parties
the way you live your life determines the amount of personal corruption (karmic burden)Quote:

My mouse started "double" clicking when I only click once. Is there a solution to this or is a sign it's dying?
