Take a break and try something you haven't done before, go someplace you haven't visited or just take a random, long walk; call someone who matters and see if you can do something fun together... slikrapid made a pretty good checklist for this not so long ago, actually: http://www.sb-innovation.de/showthread.php?p=326893
Breaking the routine already goes a long way, but the important thing is to keep yourself busy with something different and enjoyable. Idling doesn't help a single bit in making these feelings go away, and by that I mean it makes things worse.
Why is this?
Here... I don't hate it per se, but over the last few years, summer has gone from something I looked forward to to something I have to endure. I was blessed enough to land a job on education, which means I have a long summer break and get paid on top of that, but those 45-plus days can pass really slowly if you don't have plans. I try to set things up with some friends as I adviced above, but they either don't have time or pull their own way, and we end up nowhere. Not to mention my parents aren't too happy about me staying home (this is like me making too much noise with my keyboard or headphones; after years it just suddenly became a problem one day for no particular reason?) because I should "find something to do", and they let me know.
When my school reopened on February 18th, I don't think I've even been happier to start working again, even though it wasn't even mandatory for me to return yet.
End of emo post
Sorry for the barrage of double posts, I've been meaning to reply to all this for a long while and now found the time.
