    Question Piolet/Blubster/Manolito MP2P

Hi! Im wondering if anyone experienced with any of this programs. They are all based on Pablo Soto's Manolito Protocol. They are bloated with adware, BUT, they are serverless, works with something like a DHT.
Is it good for finding rare music?
What about DL and UL speeds?
    CPU, RAM requirements?

    Thanks in advance

Piolet worked fine for me. It could connect to the MP2P network very quickly - but it won't at all if you're NATed. After that I started downloading a popular track and maxed out my line instantly, which is an amazing feat considering my ISP shapes me. The resource usage is also good, although if I remember correctly, it was a bit heavy on CPU when using the integrated media player.

Can't tell you too much about content, I searched for known artists. For some reason it didn't convince me enough to drop Ares as a method of looking for individual MP3s, but I recommend you try it out! If concerned about the bundled malware, grab Piolet 1.8.3b3 and ignore all prompts to update.

Thanks for the tips , ill give it a try.

On the other side...why do you like Ares?
I mean, the protocol itself works like a charm....but the content....and the client!!......And you can barely get something besides latin music (as it is very popular in Latin America, where I live). On top of this, it has a very unexperienced audience (not like you clearly). When I ask (not-so-smart) people I know what they use and why, I usually hear something like "I installed emule, but couldn figure it out [well, yes, it is not that simple], so I tried Bittorrent but it is SO difficult [yeah...right! ]........so I got Ares"
Hope you dont take this the wrong way
I for myself use Soulseek (the client and the transfer system are TERRIBLE, but what a great source for rare music!!)

I haven't failed to find a track but once with it, and use an unofficial client that's much safer. Also don't drop by the chatrooms too much (read: never), which may not cause me to be affected by the chat issues some developers claim to plague the network.

And part of what you mention is right, Ares is a good program for those that are new to P2P - virtually no settings to be changed or applied before you can start downloading. Too bad for the MediaDefender fake files, but once you learn to avoid the 207.171.*.* and 72.172.*.* IP ranges that's not too much of a problem.

However, I use private trackers for all my other stuff (full albums, movies, releases, etc.), they're simply lightning-fast.

By the way, we're from the same country
