    CCCP - Combined community codec pack

    The Combined Community Codec Pack is a simple playback pack for Windows with the goal of supporting the majority of video formats in use today.
    Can read all common formats of videos on the internet and is optimized for HD. Much better than k-lite

    CCCP

    I think most of the members already know about this.
    Anyway here is another similar project.
    Codec Guide: K-Lite Codec Pack - Windows 7 codecs

    What do you mean by easier?? Both are codec packs.Maybe settings.
    Anyway I suggest windows 7 users should use CCCP.K-lite has some compatibility problems with some video formats.

    Yea CCCP is absolute must-have for any movie, or maybe even better say, anime fan ^^
    For example: k-lite: [DB]Bleach-->lags like sh*t.
    CCCP: [DB]Bleach--> no problems.

    Well CCCP is a pack which contains these you mentioned, and all other best codecs that you might need. Here, I made a screenshot of my CCCP instalation config for you to see what codecs this pack includes: http://i46.tinypic.com/2m6962q.png

    edit: + includes 2 players: MPC homecinema and zoom player. MPC homecinema is highly recommended.

    edit2:
    Combined Community Codec Pack ( CCCP ) includes :

    - FFDShow 2008-09-17 r2133
    - FLV Splitter r796
    - Haali Media Splitter 2008-03-29
    - MPV (Mpeg2) Decoder r796 CCCP
    - VSFilter 2.39 r796
    - CoreWavPack 1.1.1
    - Media Player Classic Homecinema 1.1.796
    - ZoomPlayer 5.5 beta 1

    ffdshow-tryouts for the win That's what I use. It can decode a lot more formats.

    Never been a fan of codec packs ever since I found out K-Lite's was causing video playback problems (blank screen) in some games.

    Huh. Seems I made some mistake here. I copied this edit2 information from free-codecs.com and now I see that they didn't update their info, they just replace versions of program, lazy bastards.

    Version of ffdshow that latest cccp uses is: FFDShow r3065 , as it can be seen on the official wiki here: Main Page - CCCP in the news section 09-09-09.

    Sure k-lite used to do some mess in my PC too, but i never had problems with cccp (and media player classic) so I stick with it on my windows machine. When comes to linux, nothing beats freshly compiled mplayer.

    umm I actually have obsolete version of cccp, I'm lazy to update it when everything works great. It is from start menu: Start -> All programs -> CCCP -> settings (I have winxp sp3).
    New version of CCCP don't have these settings?

    I have "settings", but not the window like yours. Mine only has "file association", and some others. Could it be because I didn't install ffdsjow with ccc pack?
