    BSPlayer (free)

    info
World's most popular software multimedia player
Ever since the very beginning in the year 2000, the BS.Player™ has been one of the world's most popular video players. It is popular for many reasons. One however should be pointed out: BS.Player™ is the first software movie player ever to enable its users to focus on watching the movie instead of dealing with poor computer capabilities or running around looking for a proper setting and codec. Also, it has very low CPU and RAM requirements.
There are 70 million of BS.Players installed in the world
BS.Player™ is used by more than 70 millions of users throughout the world and it has been translated into more than 90 languages. All the downloaded versions of our free player surpass the sum of all downloads of competitive video players and payable DVD players. Because it does not use much processing power it is suitable for all those who use slightly less capable computers but still want to have excellent video and audio quality. The multimedia playback has not been – and never will be – disturbed by any annoying technical problem, much too often experienced with software of this kind.
Last but not least - BS.

BSplayer is far from most popular. It was a pioneer at divx playbacking for sure but there is nothing special of it today. I see it as a relic of past. Something that was winamp for mp3.

There is much more quality media players and more used ones then this piece of failure.

    And i don't.

This "more of 70 million users" statement was just darn inviting me to comment on this. What a BullShitPlayer. :)
Also heard they are full of advertising material lately. I would never recommend this player to anyone.

Winamp is still great for MP3s... at least v2.95 is.

The free BSPlayer does need you to install "AdVantage" or something like that, right?

Winamp 5 uses 10-20% of my CPU when playing music, even with all the cool FX disabled - v2.95 uses just 1-3%.

@anon, about mp3 players, if you feel in a mood for experimenting check out foobar2000. I'm personally very happy with it, using it on my windows machine. It is very customizable, within just few clicks away. Very lightweight aswell. I cant see *any* larger CPU usage in task manager (and im using for today standards old AMD Athlon 64 3200+)

@starforce, dont take it personally, its not your fault that BSplayer sux ^^

Already gave foobar a spin in the past. Its resource usage of 500KB RAM and 0% CPU amazed me, but I'm *too* used to Winamp now

Jetaudio is better than this, but BSPlayer has a function of switching PAL/NTSC format.
