i use the Windows XP but i want to use in the next time Windows 7
I use XP at the moment, but have run every Windows operating system on that list, be it inside a VM or in my real computer.
I run XP x86 on my notebook and on my PC as main OS.
But I also run Vista x64 sometimes on my PC too.
but have run every Windows operating system on that list,
yes but not at the same time ........how big is your HDD ??
Of course not
Windows XP - it's what I'm running right now.
Windows Vista - have tried the RC and Final versions inside a VM.
Windows 7 - have tried it inside a VM.
Windows 95 - have installed it on a separate disk in my old K6-2.
Windows 98 - it replaced WinME, see below.
Windows ME - came installed with my very first computer.
Windows 2000 - used it for a short time in my K6-2. Ran quite fast.
Windows Server 2003 - have tried it inside a VM.
how big is your HDD ??

man great...all this systems you test on your computer:top:
with a RAID system ....or not....because i have a lot of problems with raid??
Yes, I think
Forgot to say, I have also tested MS-DOS 7.1, Windows 3.11 (if that counts as an OS ), NT 3.51, NT 4, and did some experiments with Debian, Ubuntu, Damn Small Linux, and the one that comes inside PVPM. I like testing these and learning new things
Edit: no, never had a RAID system. Just IDE...
i run windows vista and before i had xp.
lol Anon you are a real pc freak:PC-Freak: i think now that you are maybe married with a PC:biggrin:
XP user till the end! Honestly with all that fuzz about W7 I'm not that surprised not interested in experiencing it since I believe, nothing would ever beat XP's good performance!
My running System is actually Win XP Pro SP3 32bit and in future is my System Win7 finaly ;-)

You better check some videos for beta version first befor deciding to fully using it ;) coz I've heard lots of bad images about it ... a friend of mine installed the beta version & here are some of the basic drawbacks of it :
1. Slow setup time (took him 2 hours)
2. Large space used (like vista, reserves around 7~8GB)
3. a bit Slow performance along with buggy & unstable system files
So after all,I hope MS don't rush into releasing the final version before getting real time feedbacks from users :top:
Lol new System's aren't so bad if you have a good and fast PC,they only suck on low end PC's.And its normal to be larger since they have more options and new better graphics
@Aurion: he's already done so
And it's weird that your friend has had such issues, while:
1. Slow setup time (took him 2 hours)
2. Large space used (like vista, reserves around 7~8GB)
3. a bit Slow performance along with buggy & unstable system files
1. it took me 20 minutes to install it in my Athlon XP (2170Mhz) under a VM,
2. yes, I needed 8GB of free space too, and this caused a lot of problems since most of my HDDs are close to filling up - had to uninstall/delete a lot of stuff to make room for Win7...
3. it didn't have stability problems for me. Didn't play around with it too much, though.
Well, that was his own experience,so I can't tell if he's honest or just want to teleport bad impression about this first Beta! Anyway, for me I think I will have to give a tiny try at the very first stages of the official release to fully understand the whole idea about it!
@anon: Overall, what do you think of it ?
@anon how does shu and emule work under windows 7.i have xp and hope to pass to windows 7 when it is released in final version
main operating system OS is Windows Xp Professional..been using it since it first came out..tried vista once and did not like it..
Xp Professional :top:
Don't know if I'll ever change it
Maybe if Windows 7 turns out great!
@anon: Overall, what do you think of it ?
Well, I didn't use it too much (see below), but performance looked fine - remember I was running it under a VM in with a 2170Mhz processor, so the fact that there wasn't any UI lag speaks very well of Win7's improvements.
And by the way, I didn't try the official beta/RC/whatever, but the Microsoft.Windows.7.Beta.1.Build.7000.x86.DVD. REPACK-WinBeta, which you can find at RevTT.
@anon how does shu and emule work under windows 7.i have xp and hope to pass to windows 7 when it is released in final version
Haven't tried running them, to be honest... You should know that I hard deleted my whole SteamApps folder by accident while I was playing with some tools, and you can imagine that recovering it was suddenly more important than checking Win7 for me, since it takes like a year or two to get all the GCFs and remake my custom configs... :frown:
When I have time I will try it again, run some of our mods, and post feedback here.
@anon: Well, then I think that the one you've used might be a moded version of the official beta since the only version I'm aware of that MS officially released was the RC Beta 1 version ....
Windows XP. :top:
I hate Vista :baeh:
XP SP3 and i dont want any other :D

That's correct. You think I should test MS's official release instead?

there's no doubt for me, WIN XP!
besides that, I use Ubuntu and Fedora...
XP Pro/ Vista dual boot - mainly use vista
Windows XP the best till now may be Windows 7 will be the best but still waiting for release the final version.
Running Vista Ultimate x64, but I am definitely gunna switch to 7 when it comes out officially.
i use windows XP SP1 for 6 years and still running verry well
I am using windows 7 right now and I think it's the best OS that Microsoft released till now.All games and applications work like on xp...besides there are less errors and has the same system requirements as vista. If you have time give it a try :)
WinXP Pro SP3. Waiting on 7 to come out and get patched up before switching.
windows xp pro went to vista and switched back hopefully windows 7 is good but my main computers are macs running leopard
Use vista now...had issues with it, like veryone else, but now, I can say i actually like it. It is way faster then my XP sp2....well after some tweaking that is. I use xp also.

I was on xp
shifted on vista
now i am on Win 7 and thats good in my personal experience
Im using XP, and advance server
Win vista and win7 are bunch of messed codes that greedy Microsoft forced its programmers to put in a box, and before they could put all codes in that box , Microsoft sold it to the world.
I loved win 2000 and than upgraded to win xp and loved that! But I bought a new comp and it came with win vista and i hate it so much but I am too lazy to go back to xp. Waiting on 7 to see if I will move on as it seems much better than vista. We shall see
now i use windows xp sp3 but in few months i will buy windows 7.
Both XP on my home pc and work pc.
will try windows 7 if I get a new computer.

I am still with windows xp sp3
i'm running is windows 7 / fedora 11 / Leopard 10.5.6
i have used before that Windows xp than Windows Vista.
using windows 7 on the laptop and xp on the home computers. I hated vista but so far windows 7 is pretty good, short of certain options that your not allowed to turn off.
I am using Windows 7 after using Vista for ages and i can tell you windows 7 runs much faster and efficiantly than vista and not quite as annoying

Windows 98 - Never used.
Windows ME - This was like this shit in 2000 lol
Windows 2000 - i always thought this was the same as the millennium edition
Windows Server 2003 - never tried it, thought it was for like comps with a lot of chips....and that could handle a lot of power.

WinXP, but getting familiar with win7... and mac osx.
I use XP Proffesional with SP3 32bit - the best OS right now in my opinion .
I still prefer XP over 7, but I am gradually getting accustomed to the latter.
Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard :cool2:
Windows XP Professional Performance Edition: modded version of XP, all unnecessary features removed and none that you need. Less than 200 MB and runs like a beast (start up in 15-30 sec :top:)
Windows XP Professional Performance Edition: modded version of XP, all unnecessary features removed and none that you need. Less than 200 MB
MicroXP uses less than 100MB  I tried Performance Edition but for some reason didn't like it.
Yeah, but there's a problem when you go TOO small...a lot of stuff starts giving errors about broken DLL's and all that :frown:
The only thing I miss on MicroXP at the moment is WMA and MIDI playback. All the apps I use worked correctly. Although there are indeed some that don't work (listed on its readme).
