I think, it's both good enough!
My favorite is an Intel;but the next cpu is an AMD, the reason is easy only the Price he is very cheaper than an Intel ;-)

AMD: The PhenomII beats the old Core2-Generation.
Nethalem isn't as good in Games than the Core2-Series and in newer Quad-Optimized Games the PhenomII and Nathalem are at the top, but a AMD-System costs multiple 100€ less than the coresponding Intel system.

It is. In three days the Phenom II will launch.

And all the Bench shows the same thing: Core2 is beaten an Core i7 too expensive.

In the past AMD was much better than the Intel, the Athlon times you know. But now, I think Intel is better.

I've always been an Amd kinda guy. Never had any problems while playing games.

I'm sporting an old AMD Athlon 64 3500+. I love it. :top:

Intel is better a lot just look at the SuperPI calculations :)

One single Benchmark without multicore support is relevant for the speed?
Look at the speed of compressing/decompressing data with WinRAR. Any Intel (Except Core i7) will lose against any K8/K10 AMD-CPU.

Benchmarks are only good for compairing your penises but not for compairing real speed.

I dont care about Intel or AMD, PC is a tool to me. I use it only to chat, download, and browse.

if I play games,I will use my PS3...so,a good CPU is not very necessary for me:wink:

i like AMD more since it has been really working well for a longtime but i also have a quad core intel which has shown some awesome performance compared to AMD so would say presently Intel has little edge over AMD but surely when it comes to long run in terms of graphics and heavy processing AMD is better

Intel is better but AMD gives nice speeds for lower prizes so it's up to the guy who use it :)

Intel loyal fanboy too here, since Celeron. My first and last experience with AMD was on a Athlon X2 5000+ :frown:, BSOD fiesta not even 2 weeks after. Never walked down that path ever again.

But of course, it was probably just my luck, AMD does have much to shout about over Intel these days. Phenom II's looking real good :top:

These days it is Intel for me. I try to support AMD any chance I get to encourage competition. Just got a good deal on Intel this time.

AMD Phenom II i think is better than the i7 because the i7 costs way to much and there isnt much of a difference to me because it more of the graphics card. Intel is compatable with nvidia and AMD and Radeon are compatible so I use Radeon and AMD. nVidia I hate for graphics cards because you cannot overclock them as much.

I still have my old AMD thunderbird and my Athlon XP 2700 running as a mail server and a proxy/security management station on my home network.

My main PC is now a Core i7. It works very well for my gaming needs.
