I read on Wikileaks.org an article on ACTA.

Its quite interesting cuz it affects a number of things that I just thought some of you may be curious to know more about.

for those of you who don't know about Wikileaks.org. Its a website that offers unofficially disclosed information from 'leakers'. Information that comes to no pleasure from those organization that don't want insider information released to the general public. Or information that isn't readily available, or information that you just don't hear about on a general scale.

Anyways.. Here's a small sample of the article:

More than 100 public interest organizations from around the world today called on officials from the countries negotiating Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA) -- ......to publish immediately the draft text of the agreement.
Secrecy around the treaty negotiation has fueled concerns that its terms will undermine vital consumer interests........Based on leaked documents and industry comments on the proposed treaty, the groups expressed concerns that ACTA may:

* Require Internet Service Providers to monitor all consumers' Internet communications;

* Interfere with fair use of copyrighted materials;

* Criminalize peer-to-peer electronic file sharing; and

* Undermine access to low-cost generic medicines

Its a bit of a longer read, buts its quite worth it. Here's the link if you want to investigate a little further:

There's a big list at the bottom that express and interest to know a lot more about the document.

The article is small enough to not get bored reading it, but there is a letter published at basically expresses concern from the above mentioned parties.

Have a read if your interested in knowing more.
