WHO'S BETTER BETWEEN PS3 or X BOX360?
I don't have either so I can't really say, but I do have PS2 :biggrin: so I would pick PS3 :top:
Well,it's awesome to have a Xbox 360 since it got more gfx storage power than PS3..really a piece of art
I, myself a proud X360 user, would definitively say X360 for sure.
Just because I saw nothing on the PS3 which didn't look better on the X360. :tongue:
I have both and can resume like this:
The only advantages of the ps3 are free online and internal blue-ray.
But for games xbox360 is definitely better (without talking about the fact that all xbox can be cracked).
Xbox360 major problem is fiability (2 times to microsoft repair center)

Yeah but it's always annoying when you have to send your 360 and so can't play for 10 days.
And with all the past it become hard to believe what microsoft is saying.
The fiability has cost a lot to microsoft because the 360 is much more better for games than the ps3
i am a SONY fan,so i will choose PS3.
but you should choose the item in a reasonable way.
you choose ps3,you can play killzone2,god of war3,metal gear solid 4
You choose 360 you can play gears of war, halo....
Each one has its exclusivity.
I think 360 is better for hardcore gamer and FPS fans and PS3 for multimedia things(blue-ray) and occasionnal gamers

hmm,i live in China,so,as you know,there are many pirated game disc in our country.
so many players in my country choose 360 only because it can be hacked. but PS3 can not.
X360 have very good games like FFXIII that has left PS3
too bad it used hddvd and not blueray cause it values will be increased by that

I'm thinkin buying 360, but my only problem is DVDs. Most games are DVD9, but here DVD9 are not so cheap :mad2:

i don't think purchasing anything is the right thing to do right now, with the recession and all.
i just bought verbatim dvd+r in 50 tube two days ago that cost almost 60% more than i have bought before, long time before :p

Where do you live? Here in Germany DVD+R DL are exactly the same price-wise. I paid 50€ plus shipping in October for 100. It is the same now.

Yes that might be the cause. The Euro gets stronger/the Dollar weaker every day it seems. It is very nice to import or buy software/games online for dollars. But Germany is a country that lives from exports. So the weak dollar is bad for its economy too.

PS3 has the the blu-ray player and you dont have to pay for online play I also think the graphics are better I also like the fact you can upgrade the hard drive with any laptop HDD and also that you can use almost any bluetooth headset but the xbox has more games so I have to say PS3 all the way

LOL, I have both! I prefer the PS3; it has the obvious features such as BluRay (which goes great with my 50" HD) and also it's very reliable. My Xbox 360 has broken twice, putting it behind, but Xbox 360's online play is superior.

Well, I've had my 360 for about 1 year now and it got the RRoD. (Lil bro plays too much) I enjoyed the 360 a lot and I'd want to check out a PS3, but like many say: the prices are high... so 360...
You pay for what you get; my PS3 has never broken.... unlike my Xbox 360... it broke twice (two RRoDs because M$ don't know what a fan is).

I choose x360 and when the PS3 goes down in price I will pick it up. So far the 360 has not been bad and I am actually enjoying playing the games. I believe PS3 is not fully utilize yet...
I'd have to say Xbox 360...the quantity of games is greater than that of PS3.

The only advantage of PS3 is the blueray player as far as i can see..
The games on both consoles look and feel the same (when available on both) even though the ps3 has more power...
As blueray players will get cheaper i think the ps3 has to lower its price soon;)
In concerns to pricing PS3 can be cheaper, but it depends on what you buy in addition to the Xbox 360. For instance I have all my devices connected over a wireless network; PS3 has an in-built WiFi adapter, hence it's understandable for say a £/$/E 40 mark up. When I got my Xbox 360, the WiFi adapter cost me £60 - and it doesn't even use the N wireless protocol, in comparison to my Belkin Wireless N adapter for £45.
right now the XBOX have better graphics but in the future the ps3 will shock thosdays with his abilities
but i do prefer x360 you can flash him and download games

Xbox 360 uses exclusively DVD9 for games. There's been a time where there were DVD5 iso images, but they required a special kind of firmware hack and only worked with Samsung drives, that's why these were slowly abandoned. Sometimes you may encounter compressed isos smaller than 4,37 Gb, but uncompressed they will be DVD9. :top:

I have both. Graphics for the PS3 aren't better than 360's, in fact in some games it's the other way around if only slightly.
The 360 has more games than the PS3 and Sony also lost a lot of exclusive titles. Heck FF13 is coming out for 360 ffs which many thought to be unpossible :eek:
I haven't touched my PS3 to play games since finishing MGS4, it serves as my blu-ray player and media server (using PS3 Media Server (http://ps3mediaserver.blogspot.com/) whcih rocks !).
My 360 sure is ******* loud though.
I grew up loving Sony but lately, I feel as though the Xbox360 is taking over. Few reasons:
- The Playstation-exclusive games are slowly dwindling. Even the GTA series has jumped ship onto other consoles
- The ability to crack the 360 makes it very appealing for gamers and people with tight budgets
- Even if/when they crack the PS3, they would have to burn in Blu-ray using a Blu-ray burner and Blu-ray discs.... equally as expensive.
- The 360 is great if you're on a budget but if you have tons of money to throw at Sony, then PS3 surely is the way to go!

i think x360 is the best choice atm, if you are looking only for a game station.
its cheaper, moddable, with same games as ps3, and same graphic spec etc.

Well that happens a lot less now since the Jasper motherboard revision, which you'd likely have if you bought a 360 this year or late last year, so you don't have to worry about RRODs that much. Although it still is f*****g noisy. Have I mentioned that it still is LOUD ? IT'S LIKE I HAVING A JET IN THE LIVING ROOM ABOUT TO EXPLODE IN YOUR FACE SO nvm.
for media center, i prefer PSP3 because having the best gui :)

if you can get both, but if you decide on financial constraints go for xbox cos you can just have their games off the web, for better experience and much enjoyment PS3 ftw.

i'm an old sony fan since ps1 so i got myself a ps3.
i dont play many games on it, just pro evolution soccer and grand turismo but i find it to be an excellet media center. streming movies through my pc was never easier.
I like a new PS3. But why there is no Nintendo Wii here?

PS3, I bought a 500GB hard drive for it a while back and I use it as my media center when I am not gaming, blu-ray is icing on the cake. Also, there are some pretty good ps3 exclusives on the roadmap such as God of War 3 and MAG.
xbox 360!! just got mine modded!! im downloading so many games & with the new mod you can play live!! its mad fun!
I would say PS3, BLUE RAY ROX!, but seriosuly, you can access to internet with PS3, so you can go to youtube and stuff like that.

aside from comparing exclusive game titles (which you should do by yourself because its purely opinion based), some other things to consider:
xbox live (costs money, but is unified and system wide)
blu ray support (only on ps3)
hardware problems (ps3 = far quieter, less prone to failing)
hackability (360 can be modded to play backups)
for me, game library is by far the most important consideration. as such, i went with the 360 because in my opinion it is much better than the ps3's

Was just going to say the same thing. For online play, the 360 has a much larger community. The PS3 will be growing because of the price drop, but honestly don't see it ever getting to Live's level. Not to mention, better exclusive titles for the xbox.

Guys, i have never played any of the consoles before but i do know the hardware aspects of the PS3.
PS3 is one helluva of a hardware.For starters , PS3 is not a product made by Sony only. Its a product resulted due to the combined effort of 3 big companies namely Sony, Toshiba, and IBM.
The soul of the PS3 is the Cell Broadband engine, which contains not one or two processors but 9 processors in it !! ,( 1 Power processors element (PPE) , 8 Synergistic Processor element (SPE) . )
Just imagine, even when Intel and AMD were battling each other with their petty dual core processors way back in 2005, Sony created PS3 in their own style,!!
Coming to the bandwidth , the Cell broadband engine has an enormous bandwidth. Upto 25 GB/s Memory bandwidth and 75 GB /s of I/O bandwidth.( trust me thats one helluva bandwidth) :und_wech:
When you buy PS3 , you don't just buy " yet another console " ... you buy a complete entertainment system

So, hardware wise, imo PS3 beats the crap out of Xbox 360. I am not aware of the games of either of them, but from hardware persective thumbs up for PS3.
I dont think that there is a huge difference between the two because when you look at cross platform games they tend to be the same graphics wise. Yes the ps3 has a lot more power but which companies are going to create a totally different game for the ps3 to utilize all of its graphics power.
PS3, since it has FF XIII and Versus XIII. I'm a big FF fan :smile:

I would choose an xbox 360 because of live, but if you don't have live, it's pretty boring.
I think xbox 360 has a much better interface than PS3 who agrees with me?
and you can say that again^ without Live its very boring playing the same game over and over....you need to switch it up every now and then and play against someone new..
maybe buy both of them and paly always new and beautiful games? :D

XBOX360 = hardcore egoshooter (COD 4-6),Casualgames(XBLA,Shadow Complex...)
PS3 = Sportgames (FIFA10,Madden),Adventures
But you can play Sportgames or Adventures on Xbox360 too.
Or Egoshooters and some Casualgames (Flower...) on PS3 too.
Definetly PS3, but first person shooters don't come into the decision. FPS should always be played on the computer.

Man is the same thing. I've got both of them. Get a 360 if you wanna play a lot of games and you don't have enough money or a PS3 if you want a blu-ray and games in the same machine.

GeoHot basically unlocked the PS3, so now we just need some homebrew and PS3 will be in the same scenario soon we hope.

I have a family friend coming from the U.S. in April and I have the hardest time in the world deciding which console to tell him to buy for me..
I had XBOX 360 which, like I said, got ruined after 8-10 months (after 8 months it produced 2 RROD, after an unofficial repair that lasted 2 months got 3 RROD).
now on one hand the PS3 is due to play backed up games in the future but I just don't know how long it will take.. can take a year from what we know and I really really wanna play like, right now.. and games cost like 80$ each which is crazy.
on the other hand I already had X360 and therefore have 2 controllers, HDMI cable, 120GB HDD, a guitar for Guitar Hero (love the series) but I know it won't last over a year and it's stupid to buy a once broken console that you know for sure it won't last over a year.
what do you say guys ?
PS3 for me even thought i own both. i prefer the PS3 controller when it comes to FPS, also its great for my HD movie viewing.

I saw a splitscreen that compares the two and I noticed PS3 has higher quality.
plus it doesn't get fucked up quickly and the controls are much lighter!
which settings you think will make a user go this way or the other?

The big plus for the xbox is that you could play backup copies, thats good, if you know what to do with this advantage. ;)
On the other hand the ps3 has free online gaming.
However in my point of view the xbox360 is the better deal, even if you get a 'red ring of death' you are save by using the 3 years warranty (sony 12 months).

It's only good if you can take use of this fact, remember, ps3 bds are still too expensive.
So even if you're able to play them, you might dont want to...
Furthermore you need to get them, which could be hard, if you're looking for a lager collection.
If you DL them you've still the factor 5 or 6 of the filesize compared to a 360 game.
In the End we're all good with a 360. ;)

The best about sending it in: Even if your box is flashed they will repair it, as long as your box has still the security label inside.
If you dont have a label, you can get one from the 'usual places'.
MS will send you the box back and it will still play all your stuff.

If it was on two different TVs then a proper comparison is even harder to make. The graphic needs to be made on the same TV, split screen.
If u go to ur tv/hifi retailer they wll have a wall of tv's some will be the same but even if te same they might look diferent due t different tuning

in 09 there were definately better ps3 games than 360. but the 360 has still some top exclusives and the point that you can play backups and JTAG with older boxes, makes the box better :D.

That's tough to say. I've always liked Microsoft consoles but they are far more controlling than PlayStation. I just wish they would release more popular titles.

IMHO the 360 is slightly better, the 90% of the games are multiplatform, every console has its exclusives, but the 360 is less expensive.

You fanboys ^^^ I have both games and there is no difference between the games. Only difference is prolly the blu ray player built in the ps3 but game wise im yet to see something different. X360 has games that are just for it too, talk about "Gears of War".
PS3 is better fo Multimedia and XBOX360 better for Gaming.
If you want to look Blurays buy a PS3 if you want to play Games buy a XBOX360

Instead the XboX360 just need a lot of DVD DL to play some kind of game and this is really annoying for me. But the XboX360 it's crackable XD so both console have nice and bad things.

And if you take the JTAG into account you don't even need to switch discs, even if you play different games as you can load them from HDD. :P

With ps3 finally jailbroken i would say ps3 it makes a better media center with free online and you can use any HDD etc.
I have played on both consoles and have to say that both have their upsides and downsides, which one is better depends on the person playing it.
I myself have an xbox just because I'm a big Halo and Fable fan for some reason and most of my friends have xbox aswell, so there would be no point in buying PS3 for me.
Havn't had a RROD problem with my xbox yet so can't really say anything about that.
I do like the Blu-ray option on the PS3 and a few exclusives that they have released on it. Also the "feeling" of having a Playstation is kinda fun, since I had a PS1 console for many many years when it was first released :tongue:.
So in my opinion, there really is no "better console", it's just a matter of what you like and if your friends have xbox or PS3.

This question is more for german speaking user. My dad has a card to a store (Metro), which we go in Austria every few months. And I saw that they have brand new Xbox 360 slim 50€ cheaper than here in Slovenia. So I wanna know is, if I buy it there is English language also in console, cuz I really don't know a thing about german language!

The JTAG hack is a hardware Mod, only possible if you have a manufacture date before xxx and a Kernel Version below xxx.
Once installed, it makes the XBox execute Homebrew like for example the FSD (FreeStyle Dashbord) which enables you to run games from harddisk.

This so called iXtreme isn't a hack of the XBox itself, but of the drive. It makes the drive not to differentiate between Original Games and backups.
I own a XBOX360 with JTAG and Kinect and i'll never miss it!
It's just great to play games and use DLC from HDD.
Games on XBOX360 and PS3 are almost the same, so i dont need a PS3.

Hey guys! I need your advices! I found a used PS3, with Jailbreak, 320GB disk, and a few game. The price is good (for my standards), dude says console wasn't played much. The only thing is, it's fat, not slim version. So do you guys think it's worth buying or is slim better in every way?

Just stick with the fat , the only thing that slim has to offer is size and since ps3 is not use so much outside of the house :P
Honestly i've found that the fat ones ps2 especially don't break that easily as the thin ones

Probably . Iam very satisfied with my 'fat' ps2 , i've been using it for over 8-10 years and everything works fine with the chip for copies
I have PS2 "slim" and it worked fine for years (using Swap Magic DVD for backups), but now the laser is slowly starting to die!
i still maintain to this day that sony's ps1 and ps2 lasers were bought in bulk from some junk dealer in china for $1 per million.
i used to chip and repair both consoles, and the lasers are by far the worst components in them.
if your original (fat) ps2 lasers are still working fine, chances are you've been playing mostly dvd based games - it's the cd reading that used to screw up the ps2 lasers, leaving them 'one eyed' (able to read dvds and not cds). using official discs of course extends the length of laser life (as does using quality media for your 'backups').
the other laser killer for ps1/ps2s is games that heavily stream data - gta etc. if your machine sounds like it's working hard, it probably is...
I still enjoy the old school PS1 and PS2 games on emulator. Have always been a Sony fan, but I've since learned to enjoy what's available and what's fun to play. There are a few good games on the 360 I would really like to play. Basically I'm open to both consoles regardless if one or the other is better.

and you get hacked and loose your credit card info for free. i think i rather pay the small fee microsoft asks and receive a garantueed quality of service and most importantly, not loose my credit card data to hackers.
let's also not forget to mention a big selling point in the beginning was the ability to run linux on it without voiding waranty... Something they took away after a while... For me that's another big point why i wouldn't want to get one. Just for the principle of it
The best games is something I would say is highly overrated. There are only a few games that are ps3-only and maybe half of them are worthy of giving my attention to. All the other games are playable on other consoles or pcs as well. Let's also not forget there are quite a few xbox only titles that are worthy of getting. Gears of war, halo and so on... Hate to break it to you, but if you want all the best games, you'll have to get at least 3 consoles and a gaming computer.

Yep the PSN debacle was something that should put off a lot of smart gamers wanting to buy a PS3. But as usual people don't do what you'd expect. I guess the PS hype hasn't run out yet, and despite the fact that the 360 has lower quality graphics I would still buy it especially for the controllers which I think are the best consumer gamepads I've ever played with.

Agreed, they're at least 10 times better than the ps3 controllers. The motion control in them doesn't do anything for me and the weight on the xbox' controllers is far better (ps3 feels like a hollow piece of plastic). I've come to use them on my pc as well with the wireless connector I bought. Pretty awesome..

Niether, it's all style over content these days. The last revolutionary machine they bought out was the original PlayStation. It's not all about graphics ffs. I don't care if the graphics are so good that you can see a gnat on a horses ass. What good is it if there is no challenge or plot. All you seem to have to chose from these days is an endless line of First Person type games where you are either shooting, chopping, whipping or bombing the shit out of everything. The extra bonus is that if you aren't already part of a clan online you usually have to spend endless hours fragging little screaming bitch yank kiddies before you get to find more civil people. I am not trying to shout some granddad bullsh*t like "back in my day sonny". Because If I could have yesterdays gameplay with todays graphics I would literally jizz. I would never leave the house. Period. Put the gameplay back into gaming is all I ask.
ive switched to 360 because ive had it with sony as well as the ps3 hacking community.

well i have both me running a arcade for peoples so i love them both but i think ps3 is far better then xbox360 both have there own exclusive title but in my opinion xbox360 worth more is because its easy to hack... !

PS3 once it's jail broken, I think it beats the hell outa of XBOX's butt.
