This movie is already made. They showed the trailer at the superbowl this year!
i like star trek series as they aim to give a view of the future, trying to back up their ideas with more or less realistic/scientific explanations (SF!), so in a way it makes you think these things could really happen somewhere in the future, also i like their attitude, things like: working together to expand human knowledge, positive attitude (pro-peace), using the fact that we are not alone in the universe which is obvious, but still largely disputed and so on
the latest star trek movies (and series) tend to have lower quality (and i don't mean CGI, but casting-characters-story), hopefully this one might bring them out of decline and provide some refreshment
new cast, relatively unknown, maybe lacking experience, i get a feeling its gonna be another teenage-star hollywood-trend mixed-feelings movie; a director with good experience, but in TV series, not movies; few backup stars as failsafe function...well, maybe their spirit and hunger for success will prevail after all; even though its gonna be hard to come close, for example, to a cult charisma/performance of cpt. Kirk, Spock or cpt. Picard

I like this statement. I really do. I also do believe that we're not alone and so I have to agree with the director's attitude that we, as humans are also not alone.
The universe is huge. There's no way that we, as humans are alone.
One thing that I don't like about StarTrek is the fact that they have just way too many aliens. There must be over a gaz-illion in the series.
Don't misunderstand me here, though I personally don't believe that there's a gaz-illion aliens in the universe. But there are aliens existing, I am sure.

I think that your right about that. Remember the Transformer's movie. It also was a teeny-bopper movie. At least IMO, it was. :smile:

depends how you define aliens, imo it is logical to assume there are 'gaz-illions' of alien life forms in the universe, but a lot less of lets say 'intelligent' ones, even less on our level of development, even less beyond our level and so on

Have seen the movie yesterday....it's great! The actors are very very great and the fit perfectly in their roles! The Special effects are great, too. The look realistic and fit good in to the movie.
Think, there will be a Star Trek X II
Didn't see movie yet but bye the look of trailer i believe it will be best Star Trek till now.Can't wait to see it
People need to go watch this in the theater to really appreciate it, or wait at least for the R5 release....

Paramount Already Thinking About Sequel To Abrams Star Trek
With the JJ Abrams Star Trek movie still eleven months away, is it too early to be talking about a sequel? Apparently to Paramount Pictures the answer is ‘no.’ Star Trek co-writer and executive producer Roberto Orci has revealed exclusively to TrekMovie.com that the studio is already perusing the new Trek team to nail them down for a follow-up.

Star.Trek.CAM.XVID-NiCE is stolen from Star.Trek.CAM.XviD-DEViSE, so don't boggle your mind over which one to get.
Also seen screens of a Russian TS (ELEKTRI4KA) which look very nice, so hopefully either LiNE audio will come about or it will probably be synced with the CAM audio.
Checked with my local cinema, they won't get this film for another 3 weeks, so I guess I'm gunna have to download it.
People need to go watch this in the theater to really appreciate it, or wait at least for the R5 release....

That's great news, but I bet 99% of all votes are from really "trekkie" fans, so it's kind of logicall rating is so high. Same thing was with Transformers two years ago. You should check again when DVD comes out.

Definitely; I've never disliked an ELEKTRI4KA release, and STG often uses them. Hopefully, STG's LiNE audio source (Mr Movie) will come through trumps. A TS this early (just 2 days after Euro release) and in quality dictated by the screen shots is a real gem, but proper fans of the series will probably go see it in cinema or wait for R5/DVD-R/RiP. I've watched a few episodes of the original series (caught them just flicking through channels), so I've never been into Star Trek, but I wouldn't mind seeing the film. Though from all this talk about P2P releases, I get a feeling that P2P is over taking The Scene.

like said before, don't believe imdb too much, you might get quite a few surprises - way too many posts there are just haters/fans bashing each other
as for me, i watched all previous star trek movies and plan on seeing this one too :top:
as for rip quality, p2p rips are usually a high risk considering the movie quality - i prefer at least r5/screeners and upwards

You're absolutely right, people should see the movie and judge for themselves. But hey, it's good to know that now almost 10.000 people think the latest installment of my favorite franchise is worth 8.6... :top:
