An investigation into video game prices has found that Australians can buy software for less than half price by importing.

The Xbox 360 blockbuster BioShock for example, is $109.95 at EBGames yet it's just $48.57 including postage from the Hong Kong online retailer Play-Asia.com.

Avid Reservoir gamer James Dominguez, 34, compiled the research after reading many articles about the high price of Australian software compared to overseas outlets.

He scoured the shelves at Australian retailers including JBHi-Fi, EBGames and Harvey Norman, comparing their prices on popular formats to local and overseas online outlets such as GamesWarehouse, Chaos, Play-Asia and SuperUFO.

always look for bargain prices at the net, no matter where you are..all the companies are the same , charging at a higher prices because of location..:mad2:

because they think you won't bother to check how much it'd costs to get stuff from somewhere else instead. but doing this is now becoming a general rule of thumb :top:

not unless you live in a country with there are no means electricity or no computer..lol
but i know sometimes even if you do order from the internet you will be probably paying a lot to have it shipped out

Well,u know what,I guess there is a concept that says "the more u are far from the rest of the world, the more u will keep paying for an Inet service" tho,I think this is way true,10 years ago when we first had DSL support,it was very expensive for a silly 256Kbps connection (however, there were around 10 ISPs in the country),now we have the 50MB/50MB package 1 year old which costs around $490/month

because ISPs will make you pay more BUT you need to stay connected :cool2:

that what is so called "Extortion" maybe it sounds ugly but u know that what they exactly do with their customers, just make it hard for them to afford but however, they just want to stay plugged in :confused2:
