HERMOSILLO, MEXICO (TICKER) —Another title defense, another victory for Ulises Solis.
Solis retained his IBF junior flyweight title Saturday with a unanimous decision over Glenn Donaire at the Palenque De La Expo.
Since winning the belt from Will Grigsby in January 2006, Solis (27-1-2, 20 KOs) has defended it in impressive fashion, going the distance just twice in seven bouts. One of those was a draw with Omar Salado in August 2006, and the other occurred Saturday, as Donaire was aggressive throughout the battle but came up short for the second time in as many major title fights.
