It was a particularly sweet point earlier this week when O2 announced it would be giving free BT OpenZone WiFi hotspot access to iPhone 3G customers in their new tariffs. Well, now original iPhone owners need not feel jealous.

Much in the same way the network improved the original iPhone tariffs in January O2 is again pulling out a deal which it hopes will keep owners happy. From 11 July (co-incidentally iPhone 3G launch day) iPhone users new and old will get access to more than 3,000 BT OpenZone hotspots as well as The Cloud hotspots already available. This brings the total number of free WiFi hotspots to all iPhone customers to more than 9,000.
