View Full Version : The CIA's communications suffered a catastrophic compromise.

Eleven former intelligence and US government officials recounted the fiasco under condition of anonymity. The agency asked its informants to communicate via websites. A double agent allegedly showed the Iranian intelligence the server assigned to it. The authorities then looked for other similar sites. To do this, the spies of the Islamic Republic have used advanced functions of Google search engine (dorking).

Dorking is a practice used to explore the sites more in-depth: detect all those who use such a module of connection to a site, look for such term in the address of a site, or a type of documents hosted on a server etc. Thanks to the double agent site, the Iranian services were able to map all the servers of this type, then find out who was using them in Iran, thus updating a spy network (30 people according to the statements of Iranian officials in Iran in 2011). These informants were imprisoned and even executed for some.

The same communication protocol between the CIA and its sources has had the same effects in China. Here too, Langley's agents were decimated. A CIA officer had also tried to alert his hierarchy on these flaws. In vain, his warnings were not listened to and he was transferred to another organization. This communications system was supposed to be temporary, but above all it was not designed for opponents such as China or Iran.

this looks like psyops fake news

Eleven former intelligence and US government officials recounted the fiasco under condition of anonymity.

intelligence officials relying on journalists to safeguard their identity?
not 1 but 11 (retired) whistle blowers?
readers relying on truthfulness of anonymous sources who cannot be verified?
yahoo news was chosen for their high moral standards or their coverage/reach?

A double agent allegedly showed the Iranian intelligence the server assigned to it.

After this betrayal, Israeli intelligence tipped off the CIA that Iran had likely identified some of its assets, said the same former official.

The same communication protocol between the CIA and its sources has had the same effects in China. A CIA officer had also tried to alert his hierarchy on these flaws. In vain, his warnings were not listened to and he was transferred to another organization.

the zionist intelligence network is the common theme here, with well-established and high-level ties to usa (including their assets in iran) and chinese networks - so they have the means
and they have the motive: global domination

this type of distorted information can then be used to influence public opinion (programmed with the help of large news/media outlets) and provide documented 'proof' for official purposes (mounting 'evidence', appearance of legality) when the time comes to install further dictatorial measures, as a part of invented wars like the war on cyber-terr0rism, war on terr0r, etc.; covering for an ongoing 'war on (own) population' by corrupt individuals and officials, which has been more overt for the last few hundred years; though on a deeper level it represents the battle between good and evil, where many foolishly think they are on the side of goodness, while their actions, activities and the results thereof prove otherwise

My post was intended not to deny the desire of the United States to appropriate Iranian wealth, bu to simply illustrate how a badly though communication scheme could lead to such a miserable failure, showing that even CIA's security Ubermenschen can take the least appropriate decisions to achieve their goals. I think this may give some hope. You are not lost even when targeted by 3 Letters Agencies. And I think hope is important these days.

Concerning the stated interactions between CIA and Israeli Services: Everyone knows or at least guess that there are very close links between US, UK, CA, AU, IS, FR and DE spy services, and these links are even closer to each other than with their control organization in each of their respective countries. So IS services giving CIA some info is very commonplace.

Concerning the source (yahoo news) you may dislike it, but journalists of a much better established news media, such as The Telegraph, they did not find it unworthy of them to take back the information.

And Yahoo News not having disclosed the identity of its sources is perfectly normal. Any journalist has to protect his sources.

sure, but double agents infiltrated among experts or their superiors are able to compromise just about any new protection scheme, which is where those tip-offs come from

that would depend on what do you place your hope in (like, only in personal abilities or higher powers)

journalists with integrity are rare birds in corrupt societies
