Yes. There are few episodes, so it shouldn't take me long.
Has a nice score in IMDb, tell us your impressions later!
Finally started watching it yesterday. The first episode already began on a very high note. Highly recommended.
Watched the San Junipero episode of season three. It was great, I didn't see any of the surprises coming.
This is a very good series, too bad there are so few episodes.

Yes.......one of the greatest, deepest and wisest series ever seen^^
Jesus, I really must give this a try if everyone is praising it!
lol, if you keep that up, guess i'll have to check it out too :P
You'll probably start first, so make sure you post your review, ok? :D

... Or.. not.. OK? :wtongue:
So you don't extinguish our hopes for entertainment :wgrin:
Anyway it was just a joke because it's rare to see you praising any movie or tv show.

slikrapid's list of favorite movies, sorted by genre (rare post where he praises Hollywood works, don't miss it!).
slikrapid's list of favorite movies
yeah, that list could use some reworking
like... throwing out this one:
Arthur and the Minimoys (2006)
Did you watch it yet slik?
i did, watched complete S01 and one episode from S02, fast forwarded the rest of S02
can't say it was impressive in any particular way, S01E01 and S02E03 were rather weird too, the description on imdb says that it 'shows the dark side of life and technology' but i got the impression they were actually promoting these future areas of technology and the related products - some mentioned similarities with 'the twilight zone', which work only when a particular twist occurs, which are often very unconvincing
this show is from 2011, how come the hype arose so late in 2017?
S01 E01 The National Anthem - the pig stuff? unrealistic and silly, features hunting down youtube uploaders, censorship, etc.
S01 E02 Fifteen Million Merits - bad acting, retarded tv shows and animations, unbelievable twist, features reality show entertainment, living for your 5 min. of tv glory
S01 E03 The Entire History of You - annoying drama and bad relationships, features chip implants, augmented senses
S02 E01 Be Right Back - supposedly women just love their replicants, unless they cannot fake important things like crying, features cloning and using online available data for personality reconstruction
S02 E02 White Bear - uninteresting amnesia, masked zombie hunters/photographers
S02 E03 The Waldo Moment - the waldo show, really?
S02 E04 White Christmas - too far fetched in its solutions, although it would be very interesting to some, like the law enforcement, features cloning of one's consciousness (lol) into a mini-me version

As someone who just recently discovered Black Mirror I'd like to give this thread a little push. It's become an instant classic series for me.
We'll get six more episodes on the 29th! :w00t:

We are getting a christmas present. If they air every year, I'm willing to wait one year.

Haha, if they keep up the quality they might go on many years.

yeah- not really- since i think actually black mirror is starting from episode 4 -the first 3 is total garbage that hasen't much to do with tech
dude
what if
my their feet were telephones
and we have interracial couples every episode ?
genius
I'd completely forgotten about the new season =] Let's watch!
That show also came up at our post-Christmas-dinner "what are you watching now"
If I understood this right, each episode has its own story, actors... so quality may vary.
But, it's definitely on my list of show to watch on NF.
I'm halfway through the new season, and I fear there's been a quality dip. The first three episodes seem to rehash the plots of previous ones, just with different characters.

it contains only 4 black mirror type of episodes :
1) Hang the DJ
2) Arkangel
3) Black Museum
4) USS Callister
but none compared with Nosedive - San Junipero ,White Christmas, or The Entire History of You
Okay, I finished the fourth season and here are my thoughts.
USS Callister: recycled the idea from White Christmas with a few changes.
Arkangel: recycled the ideas from The Entire History of You and Men Against Fire with a few changes.
Crocodile: recycled The Entire History of You (again), but became sort of interesting after the bodies started piling up!
Hang the DJ: sort of like Playtest, but definitely different enough to be good.
Metalhead: would have been good if they'd given it a little more exposition and backstory; we don't know who the characters are, why no one else seems to be alive, who made those robotic dogs and why they're hellbent on seeking and destroying their targets...
Black Museum: had elements from White Bear and White Christmas, but was different enough to be engaging; could be considered to be three episodes in one due to the three stories shown.
Oh, and there's a little something in Metalhead for those who just have to press the pause button every time they see text scroll by (like me).

The fifth season is going to be released this year, but that's all the information we've got at the moment.
The Bandersnatch interactive movie was released last year in lieu of a new season, although I passed on it because it has a ton of branches and multiple endings and I don't think film as a medium is good enough for that like visual novels and "choose your own adventure" books are.

yeah i saw Bandersnatch also - but from torrents not netflix - so it had only one ending for me - the ideea was good - or innovative - but implementing cuted the movie atmosphere - i see that ideea better applied in porn or erotic movies but with a wider are of selection

that made me confused also- no actual release date

3 episodes in season 5 - only 1 worth watching (last eP)
it felt like they had to release a new season without taking any pleasure to make it

Pretty much the same as season four, then.
Anyway, I didn't know the fifth one was already out, will grab and see...

at least season 4 had 6 episodes - is closer with season 1 wich had 3 episodes also - just that this time it dosen't feel so "high-tech about" episodes
i watched the first one of season 5 and it was very lame. the first 30min are completely wasted and the rest was not exactly gripping either. i had the impression they tried to create some kind of mix of what comparable shows have done but failed.
Alright, I finished season 5 yesterday.
Striking Vipers
Fairly interesting episode. It's like San Junipero but with a much smaller focus and somewhat heavy on filler; it raises the question of whether something like this would be cheating when it's not "real". However, did the creators of this VR game system not anticipate that people would use it for cybersex? Because in that case they obviously haven't watched Virtuacall or Sword Art Online ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) Or learned from past experiences - they're the same company that runs the San Junipero datacenter. Also, why does Danny wonder how sex feels for a woman, when he could just choose a female character in the game? Sort of bittersweet ending where the wife accepts the whole situation, but only if it happens once a year and she gets to do the same in 3D.
Smithereens
Good drama with plenty of tension throughout. Noteworthy how the people in charge of Smithereen knew more details about Chris than the police, simply because he had shared on the addicting social network, and also could listen to him through the app in his phone (does this remind you of anything?). In the end, the sniper is heavily implied to have killed both Chris and possibly Jaden, but this all becomes a notification that people see, read and move on. Which is the same that would happen in the real world.
Rachel, Jack and Ashley Too
This one is about the costs and expectations that come with fame and the dark side of the music industry. Two of the three technologies that keep "Ashley" touring while she's in a coma (the hologram projection and voice synthethizer) already exist in the real world. The concept of copying your consciousness into a mini self had already been explored previously; fairly negligent of the toy's manufacturers to record a complete copy of Ashley's mind on the dolls and then just program a limiter, which is apparently trivial to remove. Apparently, her songs were written by Trent Reznor; the one that plays at the end and over the credits definitely had that NIN vibe.
If the previous season was a 7, this one's an 8 for me, perhaps rounded up. Not in par with the first three, but still good. Also, plenty of surprises for those willing to hit the pause button at the right time (as a general rule, this should be done whenever a computer or phone screen is visible).
Season 6 has attempted to take the series on a different direction while retaining the overall "feel" of it. I can still recommend it, but be aware that technology plays a less central role on the plots than you'll have come to expect from previous episodes.
