Great tv show..it reminds me about old movies atmosphere made in 80-90 wich can't be compared with 2016 movies ever ...it's a mix between super 8 , true detectives season 2 atmosphere and old movies...it has thriller scene , sf, and brings me back in time when movies where good

Did you maybe watch the Night of and The Night Manager? People say they're good, but I haven't watched any episode yet!
just finished watching this one - great show! looking forward to season 2 (though i hope they don't mess it up like they did with s2 of true detectives...

i never watched series 2! i loved series one so much and series 2 had such disappointed audiences that i steered clear of it!

Yea, I watched season 1 when it came out, and it was good first 4 episodes, last 4 were amazing :D
I downloaded the pilot when this thread was started, but haven't watched it yet. Based on your feedback, it's next on my list (and I'll check the other recommendations too).

i have recalled what old movies feedback gives me this show...stephen king old movies...beside that ..season 2 is on the way ...

don't get me started with s2 from true detectives ...ufo's in this show?,,really?...beside that ..both ..cop...and villan was stupid...Detective Ray Velcoro can't be compared with the masterpiece role that Detective Rust Cohle was in season 1 expecially trough the best acting role by Matthew McConaughey....season 2 was carried trough the acting of Detective Ani Bezzerides(Rachel McAdams) and Frank Semyon ( Vince Vaughn) but not enough to be a masterpiece

I also recommend this series. I like how protagonism is well spread among the main characters, so that there aren't any you don't care much for (speaking of which, Will and Steve will apparently have more central roles during the next season). And of course, all the bits of the conspiracy, which are revealed little by little.

that pretty much nails it and that aside it's also lame. i watched the first two episodes when i had a cold a few weeks ago and "slow progress" would be an understatement :P
however, because of the very good reviews i gave it another shot and watched the last episode. it wasn't much different so in the end the only good thing about this is the title music which is really nice.
bottom line is that this show suffers from the same problem as all other netflix shows i've watched: the screenplay. the only exception is house of cards but everything else has just a poor script. anyhow there're many good shows available currently so it doesn't matter much.
What I've been hearing all around from real life friends and relatives is that they really liked it, most tend to say they related to it because it has an 80's feel, and that's what have attracted me to it, I will try to watch it asap, finishing some other shows lately, god there are too many TV shows and so little time.

Just watched season 2! Amazing show!
Haven't watched it yet, but after the new seasons of The Americans and Better Call Saul finished airing early on, this and Mr. Robot S03 are the TV shows I'm looking forward to watching this year.

have one more episode from season 2 to watch - and i can say that second season can't be compared with first season ,or i'm getting used with the atmosphere,but it feels like something is missing - the salt and pepper - the flavor started to were off
offtopic: Mr. Robot S03 started to be great - after an avg season 2 and a predictable unfolding story on season 1
i'm waiting for black mirror season 4 - idk how long
the only exception is house of cards
wich is almoust done - season 6 final season - hoping to end with both underwood's on the electric chair -since they started to be annoying 4 seasons ago already

People are making such fuzz from this show that I will have to watch. Soon after I finish "The Following".
Have already downloaded that NTb release floating around, just need to find the time and check it. Hope is at least equal to the first season.

That's grand, looking forward to it. I liked both miniseries (and The Night Of's finale actually had a hook for a second season).
i think the Night of was perfect and doesn't really need a second season. Some things are better left as they are.
On the other hand, stranger things could get at least another season, if not 2 and still maintain the good quality.
I think it's confirmed there'll be 4 seasons.
imdb says 9.0, the hype is strong with this one
S01 is slow but watchable, guess the goonies, ET, stand by me comparisons may somewhat apply, the writing is weak, the characters are weird and dysfunctional, winona overacting much, looking for will-i-am, not recommended for a very young audience
S02 drops the ball, the mood changes, became generic, introduced annoying new characters (2 kids & detective, 008 & gang were awful), became weirder (sheriff & 011, winona and sam of lotr, 008 & 011), levels of slime and gore increased, fast-forwarded most of the season, oh and anti-russian propaganda is there as well (usa political & military agenda spreading through usa tv shows)

You're right but you have to see it as a whole. There will olways be an Episode that is not so good. It's all a matter of taste ;)

I really like the Series. I' m waiting for the third season. Eleven is soo cool.

I just finished the second season! Not as strong as the first one, but still super enjoyable. I personally thought "Episode 7" was super weird and actually pointless if I'm being honest. Super excited for season 3 this summer though.

The third season seems really different. In my opinion, it looks like they dialed the horror side of it down a lot, judging from the trailer. Super excited, nevertheless.
I hope season 3 is really good. Maybe they can do season 4 as well, but after that the kids will be all grown up.

it's not that bad - haven't finished yet - but it's starting to have old clichés - like russians- ideas borrowed from other movies - teenage flings clichés = entertainng eather way to watch

Season complete. I gave it a solid 6/10. Wasn't that good, but it wasn't bad as well. First season is still the best!

same ratings - to many story scripts rehashed from other movies
My biggest issue was the Russians. It seemed such a cliche! :frown:

about that they have a lack of logic - beside the usual russian are evil propaganda like it was in the cold war era - how the fuck batallions of russians has established over u.s. without anybody noticing - russian soldiers not even bothered to be undercover = unless they've used teleportation for travelling :smile:)) not to mention the underground bunker activity presumed like nobody will notice that just because on the top was a mall
not to mention that you close a door to another world - but after that you left the place guarded only by local sheriff :smile:
the monsters and the body snatching copied from THE THING and Body Snatchers = The EVIL Russian GUY is made like a chinese copy of the terminator (even based on the looks it's made to resemle with Arnold or make you Think about the first terminator movie,they even mocking him about this ) not to mention - 1 person with broken leg manages to lift a bed all by himself after that miracoussly recovers in a few hours -and when is shot - is shot only in the bulletproof vest
they don't explain why 11 lose his powers at the end - wich also is a cliche with the supernatural hero that lose his powers alongside with the cliche somebody is dying on the explosion but is not actually dead | The cliche let's go to the "coco beans" character to figure ourself the whole plot
show is saved only by dustin - Steve and his interactions with that girl - Lucas sister and Jim + some side characters

they are good as follows : season 1 } season 3 and last ,season 2
if we have similar tastes and i really liked these (especially s1)
Give The Expanse a try. S1 OK but gets better all the way through
- only one real WTF stupid :-( moment and that near end of last series so far
