Copy the mRatioTorrents folder into the new clean installation, mR should keep all the torrents and each torrent setting with no problem.
But you're still gonna have to configure mRatio global settings.

OK i find firs bug that crash the mRatio. How to reproduce this bug:

Start all task(bug also occour when all task are stoped), go to Advenced > Automatic Stop > check the one of the "stop when session Upload/Download" and try to Backspace the 0 then program crashesh. Heres the logs:

You set a combination of keys (example: CTRL + ALT + M), when pressed will hide/show mRatio.
When hidden you won't be able to tell mRatio is running apart from the entry on task manager process list.

Thanks for reporting will be fixed in the next version.
As temporary patch don't erase all the content in the box to avoid crashing. (example: to change 4 -> 2, change 4 to 42 then delete 4)

First two are likely tracker problems, not mRatio.
The last bug is what czullo reported and will be fixed on the next version.

There's nothing about memory reader in there.
You have to give me details on why memory reader is not working.

On main window "Ctrl+A" dont work, so you must seleting all torrents manualy wich is pain in the ass is you have +50 positions. On old mR45 this was working fine.

Set the same port on both. Open uTorrent first. Then open mRatio, it will appear "red" on mR port status but that's fine because uTorrent will be controlling the port.

No, but it's really straight forward.
It works pretty much like an average bittorrent client, it just doesn't make real upload or download.

Important things to keep in mind:
- Never run the same torrent on the bittorrent client and mRatio at the same time
- If you use uTorrent make sure you use memory reader.
- Never make upload on torrent with 0 peers.
- Use slow safe speeds if you don't know what you are doing.

Any other question, just ask, someone will help you out.


@anyone From time to time check mRatio log file (mRatioLog.txt) and see if there is anything there, it will help make mR more stable if bugs are reported and fixed.

NO, you have to start as seeder, you already appeared as downloader to the tracker until you reached the 100% state and sent completed state.

at the same time yes it's possible, with the same torrent no and there is no logic in it anyway .

There is a way to do it but it's complicated I think until you get used to it you download using uT then seed using Ratio .. you can use this command line feature -start {torrent_hash} -delay {seconds}, just be sure to configure it correctly and try it first with a public torrent, that's if you want to automate the whole process (real download and an automatic seeding just right downloading finished), just be sure to configure uT to stop torrent right a way it finish downloading which is really hard till now.
I think manual it better than using the command line with uTorrent.

You can use the both, be sure that the two of them running different torrents and configure the memory reader .

Why search/filter input field set to type text from right-to-left by default?! (Also same behavior in 4.5). I just don't get this behavior(?!). My region/standard+format/location in Windows set to US.

Reposition columns (move column to left or right) by drag & drop feel slower than before (version 4.5). Delay about 2-3 seconds. Which mean, after I done with my drag & drop, mR catch-up me in 2 seconds later or so...

If you right click on any column, will give multiple options, including: Hiding/Showing, Sorting Ascending/Descending and Grouping Ascending/Descending.
There are also columns with with 3 states, for example, Columns -> Uploaded will give 3 options, Show only Session Upload, Show only Total Upload or show both at the same time.

Version 5 has a list made from scratch it no longer uses objectlistview.
When you rearrange a column, it actually removes the column and then re-adds it on the new position.
Although this is not the optimal way to do it, it's the more reliable.
Also this action it's going to be made very few times, likely the first time when you customize it at your way, witch for the majority of the people it's going to be with <10 torrents and they ain't going to notice any delay.

This may sound that the current list it's worse than the previous but trust me it's easily more than 30% faster where it matters, your cpu and memory will certainly agree with me.
Not to speak of the major advantage that will make some people happy with version 5.1.1

The248 are you consider change speed values from Bytes to kilo Bytes ? I think nobody seeds with speeds below 1kB/s and those big numbers isnt helpfull either for example if you want to seed with 50kB/s you must type 51400 instead of just 50, or if you want to download with speed of 1.4MB you must type 1500000 instead of 1400 thats annoing. Or maybe if you still think that inserting values in Bytes is better, could you add option in setting where we can change that to kB ?

I think it sould be same like in uTorrent with all values with kB/s not B/s.

I think nobody seeds with speeds below 1kB/s and those big numbers isnt helpfull either for example if you want to seed with 50kB/s you must type 51400 instead of just 50, or if you want to download with speed of 1.4MB you must type 1500000 instead of 1400 thats annoing. Or maybe if you still think that inserting values in Bytes is better, could you add option in setting where we can change that to kB ?

I think it sould be same like in uTorrent with all values with kB/s not B/s.

There is no perfect method, there is logical method for specific tracker, so it depends on which tracker we're talking about and using logical download/upload speeds.

PS: the magical rule here, don't be greedy and you'll always be safe xD

When you had selected more than one torrent and set the time of speed randomizer then click apply, It's not apply. It shows an hour remaining although I chose 5 min. You have to select torrent one by one and reset It's timer by clicking the button. When you do that the time setting applies. If I cannot explain, basically the problem is the time reseter button does not appears when multiple torrents are selected.

uTorrent uses the same peerid for all torrents and it doesn't change either when you restart it after stopping.

Look, All this staff like what you're talking about being handled while building the client file that has been built specially for you utorrent's build, So of course you're safe and you have just focus on choosing the right download/upload speeds and let the coder of mR concerns about staff like that xD.

I'm against this type of methods because the only thing they do is get people banned.
I've only implemented it because people insisted, a lot.
This method should be used occasionally, like an "emergency" so you can get your ratio up quickly without showing up on the peerlist with unrealistic speeds.
Using this frequently like you clearly are is not recommended.
All of this to say, waffles method = danger, run it once is dangerous, multiple times running multiple torrents at the same time is insanity.

There is no guarantee a simple delay would solve that. Automating this kind of thing is not a good idea.

It's so risky, you can also command line control that the248 implement it :
-start {torrent_hash} -delay {seconds}

It's better than guessing ETA for the torrent for sure.

Yea stupid me, I only realised that AFTER I posted this. my bad.

However, I have read upon it, but I think I'm a bit braindead.

So if I have randomized upload speed between two numbers in the 'advanced' settings, does that override the waffles method?

I'm not sure what the advantages are of selecting 'keep stopping and starting until the torrent its stopped' OR 'after seeding, stop and start the torrent x times and then: X'

and with the faking speeds, I assume the number I put in that box is the speed I want my tracker to 'see' ? i.e. if i put in a fake speed of 320kb/s and then in the main window of the torrent under the advanced settings for the random speeds i can put a really high value and it will upload a lot more, but sending the tracker a 'fake' speed?

Whatever I put in the minutes input field, click apply, mR always use default number is 1 (h) 23 (m) (not the number I input). It only correct to my number once I click Reset nearby. Does it suppose to behavior like that from beginning? (In case it designed to do that, then a bit weird have to press extra button to confirm, while the previous version do that straight away) Or something wrong with this feature... because 4.5 I've got no such a problem at all.

I like the implementation of importing multiple torrents at once - this is a huge time saver.

I have found only one bug in this version of mRatio - if I import a single torrent, configure the speeds and hit finish.
When I go to the speeds tab - the speed-change interval is preset to 1h30min instead of what I've configures.

I got some issues with two torrents from PTP. The won't seed. It will show as seeding in mRatio but has no info on seeders / leechers and won't show as seeing on PTP itself. The log of those two torrents shows the following message:

The tracker returned the following failure reason: Malformed announce
I'm using Deluge 1.3.6 and the settings are 100% Seeding with zero uploading or downloading getting reported to the tracker. I have no idea why it is like that for those two torrents and don't know if it's related to mRatio or PTP itself. I think they might have made some update to PTP that results in this, redownloading the torrent files doesn't change anything. Those two are my most recent snatches so I'm guessing if I'd download another new torrent it would give the same result. The torrents still exists and didn't get deleted from the tracker. I can seed normally in µTorrent. Anyone have an idea how to fix this?

If you want to compare you need to level terms by using the same emulation as the bittorrent client you're using. Comparing deluge emulation on mRatio with utorrent it's of no use at all.

On the log before "The tracker returned the following failure reason: Malformed announce"
isn't there a: "Sending data ... " with the announce at front? send me that so i can take a look

Have you tried using uTorrent emulation on mRatio to see if it works?

Currently it sorts by tracker url. But one of my tracker has several urls (tracker1.site.com, tracker2.site.com....). So mR sorts it like several different trackers. Other than that - it's perfect.

1. Without any technical expressions or elaboration, it's just a try to make utorrent and mRatio appears as the same instance to the tracker, actually the tracker won't even know that they're two separate programs.

Back in the day (version 3.0.15) when mRatio was running on .net framework 2.0, it was compatible with a mac through mono. However, even though it is back on .net framework 2 I can't get it to work. Is there a reason that it's incompatible anymore? Or perhaps is there some other requirement to run it? Thanks for any info

I am using utorrent 2.2.1 build 25302 and I have made sure I am emulating the exact same client in mRatio. However, whenever I click on the 'search memory' button in the memory reader, dialogue box, an error messsage pops out that says 'unable to obtain all the information necessary from utorrent memory. Try starting or stopping a torrent on utorrent and search again'. I have done so many times, but never seem to be able to use memory reader.

I am planning to cheat on TL, and the fact that the banhammer falls all to quickly along with the strict rules in place there has made me think twice about using mRatio without memory reader. Can anybody offer a solution to this problem? Also what would be the idle upload speeds on that site? Thanks.

Is there something wrong with the sentence? Anyway, what I 'intended' to convey through that sentence was that I do not dare to cheat on TL without the memory reader configured. I did go through the cheating-specific thread in the other section of this forum, and from what I gather, many are getting banned these days as the administrators seemed to have upped their security. Even the moderator of this site acknowledged that as a fact. Hence I posted here to inquire about the problem I was facing. Thanks for your help.

Yes, I have attempted to run it as an admin, but not even that helped. And no, the boxes are never filled with data. It's just the error message that pops up. I don't have 20 torrents running on utorrent though. By 'running', do you mean the torrent(s) have to be downloading or is seeding also considered 'running'? I ask because I have 5 torrents seeding in utorrent but none downloading.

downloading or seeding, mRatio needs just any tracker announce happen to catch the data and this announce done when starting or stopping torrent what ever it was start to download or seed.

change speeds every 5 min ...speeds will change in 29 min you have to hit reset every time on every torrent to work.(4.6 didn't have that problem)
& speeds don't change automatically at all in WM.
WhY wm/flash can't be used on multiple torrents ?

Anyone have any success running mRatio with mono on a mac? Version 3.015 is the latest version I can open but do not dare use because it's obviously so out of date. Has support for mono been dropped? If so, I'll just continue using a virtual machine when cheating with mRatio but if I could get rid of the virtual machine, that would be awesome. Thanks for any help

i found it finally after going through all the mratio threads. found on on mratio 3.5 thread. when u guys search do u search for just the build number or the whole thing like utorrent 1.8.5. build 17414 or any specific keywords ? i tried looking that way but just showed me a lot of threads so i went looking through all of them lol. anyway does it make a difference that the client is old or that should work just fine with the new mratio ? i have been using the rm 0.42 and 1.9. but because they are old i thought i should try the newer mratio. thanks.

Search just the build number, and make sure you pick "Show Results as Posts" at the bottom. That should reduce the noise.

It is fine as far as I can see. rTorrent uses a completely random peer_id suffix, URL-encoding anything that's not a letter, number or '-'.

Don't post something saying it doesn't work here or there, or something similar because i mighty just ignore it.

Check the log, maybe mratio saved something, if so report it.
Give as much information that might be relevant as possible.

I recently made a guide of how to run mR on a mac through wine with the program crossover. It should be in the tutorial section. You can try installing the linux version and follow the guide installing the same software I did to see if you get better results. I will be however installing linux on a virtual machine probably this weekend to see if I can get mR to run smoothly. If I have any luck, I'll make a guide on it similar to my mac one.

Another option is try running mR through mono (a .net framework alternative for mac and linux). On the mac side mono is really buggy and laggy to the point that it's not even usable but it may run better on linux.

On the mac side mono is really buggy and laggy to the point that it's not even usable but it may run better on linux.
Its crap on linux aswell.
Basically, mono developement has been killed off after community outcry, so if you REALLY REALLY need to run .NET apps on linux (and they should always be absolute last resort) THE best way is to run it in VirtualBox instance. Or, as per your guide, if you say that it works fine, I don't know, will trust you on word :biggrin:. But thats hack-ish way, it may work today, and not tommorow, it may work with one set of versions and not with another, etc.

1. Because it's totally different situation, scrape & tracker update is not the same. Each one of them passes different parameters to the tracker.
so, if tracker bans scrape approach it won't affect the tracker update process at all.

2. mR doesn't has such a command, maybe you can pass that suggestion to the coder as a feature request.

There is no command. If you want to make it work by itself, you can try an automatic mouse and keyboard software to record actions and make it run at startup together with mR.

You can remove the confirmation messages on mRatio options.
If you want to keep the confirmation messages but remove the actual sound they make you have to change your operating system settings, those sounds are operating system defaults and not actually related with mRatio, mRatio does not produce any sound.

Well i know that the sounds its from the operation system, but e.g. if i quit utorrent i have the confirmation dialog and when i quit utorrent doesn't do a sound and inside utorrent when a delete a torrent utorrent its silent also... but in mratio when i quit i've got a sound when the confirmation dialog pops up and when i delete a torrent also... its not possible to disable mratio from using sounds at all?

It works good except for one private tracker.
The torrent is yellow seed and told "The given key was not present in the dictionary".
May be a problem with this tracker or my passkey.

Yes the problem still exist. I think it comes from the private tracker because other emulator works well.

It will be fixed on the next version.
But you have nothing to worry about, it's just a parsing bug.
It will annoy you and show you a warning but other than that you should be fine, stats on the tracker should update normally.

Yes it's possible for me to remove it but it will also remove the icon on the message (error/warning/help icons).
But if you don't like the sound it makes why don't you disable it on your operating system?

when you just try, it's better to try at public tracker to avoid being banned.

that's part of the feedback, PM me with your real client announce requests. You can use any packet sniffer like smartsniff from nirsoft.
just open it, start sniffing
start downloading in rtorrent , you'll find that smartsniff capture some data that look like what mRatio sent in the above post.
PM me that data , I will post it here after concealing your personal data if there is some.

This would kill the purpose of memory reader, every time you restart you client the memory parameters (key and peer_id) are different.

Well, if it's exclusively for farming, as you said, you could get away with it, doing memory reader just once and have mR store it. Then for the next iterations you'd be good to go, the tracker would see you as if you had never turned off the client.

I've been doing this for years, never used memory reader, and nothing ever happened. I'm also not using µTorrent emulation but Deluge, so I'm basically emulating a seedbox so running 24/7 isn't really that suspicious.
Just because there is a certain risk or some people wouldn't use it, it doesn't mean it should be unavailable completely. In the end you make yourself vulnerable by many things using the client, yet the functions are there.

I hope having this feature can be considered, having it show a warning dialogue should be enough.

Agree with the other point, however. I used to seed for real on my laptop that way: stop all torrents and disable DHT when I had to take the computer with me elsewhere, then do the opposite when I was back home and ready to seed again. As I used the hibernation feature in Windows, I'd usually have the same peer_id and key for more than a month, until I closed uTorrent or restarted Windows. It's not suspicious and I was never bothered about it by tracker staff - and if you are, you can tell them you're doing just that.
