For decades, ex-government agent Raymond "Red" Reddington (James Spader, "The Office," "Boston Legal") has been one of the FBI's most wanted fugitives. Brokering shadowy deals for criminals across the globe, Red was known by many as "The Concierge of Crime." Now, he's mysteriously surrendered to the FBI with an explosive offer: He will help catch a long-thought-dead terrorist, Ranko Zamani, under the condition that he speaks only to Elizabeth "Liz" Keen (Megan Boone, "Law & Order: Los Angeles"), an FBI profiler fresh out of Quantico. For Liz, it's going to be one hell of a first day on the job.

i liked it as well but the concept is quite worn out. i hope they'll come up with a few specials here and there

True, but i think James Spader can carry the show like Hugh Laurie carried House.
Time will tell.

Trü, but i think James Spader can carry the show like Hugh Laurie carried House.
Time will tell.

that's exactly what i'm afraid of. if spader is the only thing holding it up that would be sad. but we just had one episode so as you said time will tell

usually i follow shows that are on premium cable TV networks such as HBO, AMC, netflix (dat house of cards, dayum)

these networks are usually heavily serialized, each episode's plotline ties in to the story told over the entire series. whereas free to air tv shows episodes are largely self contained with some plotlines running over the entire series. The Blacklist is the first free to air tv show i've seen like this in a long time. i'm enjoying it, because each episode's mission is new and fresh, but now i remember why i refer cable TV network shows. The Blacklist is making slow progress on the season plotline, and if the missions become formulaic/boring (which they're starting to be), i'll stop watching

Just started watching. James Spader is fuc*ing amazing! :D Can't say the same about the female actress. Not sure why they picked her. Good thing that chick from Weeds is coming in season 2 :top:
