Installation:
1. Download and install Vuze (if this is a Beta/CVS update, download the latest NON BETA release) (Vuze : Java BitTorrent Client - Download (http://azureus.sourceforge.net/download.php)).
2. BACK UP YOUR TORRENT LIST! IT IS LIKELY YOU WILL LOSE IT!
3. Optional: If you want to make a backup of your old Vuze version. Go to the install directory and rename Azureus2.jar to Azureus2.jar.bak
4. Extract the files using WinRAR (WinRAR archiver, a powerful tool to process RAR and ZIP files (http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm)) or equivalent to %PROGRAMFILES%\Vuze (C:\Program Files\Vuze) and overwrite ALL files.
5. Run Vuze and Enjoy!
NOTE: For other operating systems simply replace the Azureus2.jar. For 64-bit, portable, and Vuze Plus support read the README in the appropriate package.

Troubleshooting:
Before posting problems please make sure:
1. You have updated Java Runtime Environment (JRE) to version 6 (Java SE Downloads (http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp)).
2. You have removed the Vuze folder in %PROGRAMFILES% (C:\Program Files\Vuze).
3. You have removed the Vuze folder in %APPDATA% (The folder may be hidden).
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Vuze for XP
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Vuze for Vista
4. Reinstalled Vuze using the package from Vuze : Java BitTorrent Client - Download (http://azureus.sourceforge.net/download.php)
5. Re-applied the hack from the downloaded archives.

Warning: Performing steps 2 and 3 will wipe your torrent list and Vuze settings.

Hi, SB-I. I'm on Mac OS X 10.7.4 and I'm having an issue with the Perfect Spoof. It's greyed out and I can't seem to turn it on even though I edited the Azureus file. Here are the screenshots:

Yeah not sure what is going on. I tried to place the clientfiles everywhere Vuze.app/Resources/Java, Vuze.app/Resources/, Vuze.app/Plugins, and even in the main Vuze.app/ dir. The perfect spoof option is still not available. I wasn't able to find the install guide for osx (my searchfu is weak) but I thought it would just be replacing/adding the files under the Vuze.app/Resources/Java location; same location where Azureus2.jar is found. I also removed the 64bit version to see if that would help but same result.

I looked in the Console.app to see if any errors but this is all I saw:

That worked. So I had to basically create a "VUZE" dir in my /Applications dir then copy the Vuze.app within that. Also place clientfiles and the AzureusSpoof.properties within that normal Vuze dir. That tutorial should probably be stickied or something. Thanks again for the help !!!!

GF can you improve the checking system that check the validating of the client file to include checking on the client names and the header for example so we can avoid faults in the client file .
I think it will be a nice and inteligent thing to do and It's not a big problem also so you can dely it it's not a big deal .

Any updates on how to fool IPT's hit and run system using VEM's ghostleech? Doesn't work as opposed to uSerenity. IPT always sees the full amount downloaded.

Ghost leech settings are everything disabled except "send start and after 20 sec, stop" and overall i've enabled "don't send completed flag". If i enable "no report", IPT blocks me from tracker due to "ghostleech".

there is no way i could check such things. from where should i know the correct client-names or headers? these individual/dynamic informations are the whole purpose of the client-file-mechanism.

der fehler wird von vuze verursacht und nicht vom mod. daher wäre die frage im vuze-forum besser aufgehoben...

du könntest aber mal das zertifikat manuell herunterladen und in deinem os als vertrauenswürdig importieren. könnte evtl. das problem lösen.

I have thought about it but It will be some limited tool eaither .. what I thought about is capturing the http request, handshakes which will do the most work .

Suggestion a new feature :
Change cheating mode (Ratio tool - Speed mode .. what ever ) automatically on torrent download completion .

For me I use the speed mode while downloading then I use the ratio tool feature to fake uploading (completely) to save my bandwidth xD .

I try to make a qBittorrent client file and I finished the client file but VEM can't read the folder at all that has the client files !! It just read the three default folders .

it's strange that my VEM didn't say that error .. now everything seems to be ok the announces and Handshakes are the same with the real client .
There is one thing that the real client uses the exception in the PeerID a lot but VEM .

example :
here is the real client PeerID example -qB3060-m9e75-iHmC4K ( it uses the "-" a lot for generating the PeerID)
VEM generates the PeerID as this -qB3060-m9e759iHmC4K ( it doesn't uses the exceptions a lot like the real client )

here is my configuration for the PID :

Is there any something wrong ? I just worry about it although it seems to be a very valid peerid .

Solved by charset parameter .
1. What is the purpose of the 'Custom' type of peerId ? (when I use it with the charset it gives me an error, I had to use the anum type with custom charset) .
2. Is there a 'isLowerCase=""' for the key parameter ?

there are a lot of posts about x64 Windows,

let me do a wild a guess, you have an x64-bit version of Java installed right?
try installing a 32bit one.

I have a suggestion. Maybe the user has the choice to set the settings for many torrents already on vuze list (seeding or leeching) at once. Mostly I import many files and to change the settings for them all i do that for one torrent at a time.

Hi im running windows 7 ultimate and i am having trouble with vuze. i get an error which i have no way of knowing how to fix this problem. Error socket selector open () Azureus / Java is likely being firewalled.

Can someone please help me i want to fix this but i got no way of fixing this problem please some help

.. well, I just wrote a long post, but all got lost.. :P anyway thanks for the Mod, it helps very much my 56kb modem speed.. :biggrin: the intelligent mechanism to select the best, fastest peers, is indeed cool with bandwidth like mine.. and invaluable combined with 1kb/s upload setting.. ;)
Anyway, coming back to the bug, the Static version runs ok, magnet links all right :)
BUT, when run in Portable mode, magnet links always return error.
Fyi , the same issue was in previous version 4.7, also there magnet link error, both in Static and Portable mode.

And if you're really on 56K, might as well enable No Upload and forfeit uploading entirely. Your contribution will be minimal, and your leeching is so slow it'll hardly do "damage".
