Does it need to be b/w? I have HP Photosmart and I'm really happy with it. Prints good!

I also would like to know this. yoco, what did the photosmart set you back by?
Also, whats the procedure to get the cartridge refilled?

I don't understand this? What do you mean with that? :frown:

I just buy a new cartridge. I wouldn't refill at all.

I meant how much did it cost you? :)

I see but the fact that a new cartridge costs almost as much as a new printer itself is bewildering. Does someone here get there toner/cartridge refilled?

When I bought it (a few years ago) I think it was about 120€, but now I think it's much cheaper.

I paid 40€ for colored one and 20€ for black one.

That price seems acceptable. And may I ask how many pages do you manage to get out of those cartridges? Also, are the images as sharp as the text?
Sorry for the bombardment of questions :P It's just that I have only had inkjets and never managed to switch over to laser printers.

Well they say you can print around 600 pages if you buy XL cartridge (black), don't know how many for colored one thou.

Ah I see. Thanks for the info yoco. I am still undecided as I feel the per page cost is still a little high. I can get a printout at cyber cafes for less than what I will get per page cost this way.

yep hp p1002 is a best buy, multi-purpose printer. Of course, there are better laser printers if you want to print covers, photos etc.
The problem is that some toner refills won't give you best quality. Originals is the way to go if you care for quality.

Also a good recommendation is the Dell 1250c LED Laser Printer. It delivers very good printing results and is also very cheap when it comes to refill toner ;)

You should have a look at its reviews

I do actually. I have a Canon mp160 and I refill it using a syringe and some very cheap ink I buy from any supermarket. A bottle is about $3 and I use it for almost a full year.

Oh and the color cartridge is about $15 and it lasts even more considering I don't actually use it that much, if ever.
