Spartacus: Vengeance is a Starz television series advertised as the second season and seqül to Spartacus: Blood and Sand. It premiered on January 27, 2012.[1] Its story follows Spartacus (played by Liam McIntyre, who replaces the late Andy Whitfield), after he and his fellow gladiators kill their master Batiatus and escape from his gladiatorial training school or ludus. Cast members and characters who return from the first season include Lucy Lawless as Lucretia, Peter Mensah as Oenomaus, Manu Bennett as Crixus, Nick Tarabay as Ashur, Viva Bianca as Ilithyia, and Craig Parker as Gaius Claudius Glaber. Dustin Clare will also reprise his role as Gannicus from Spartacus: Gods of the Arena, the preqül to Spartacus: Blood and Sand.

How's the new Spartacus? Is he at least as good as previous one? And how's the story going? I'm downloading an episode each week but won't start watching until it's done!
U should start to watch it, its really good. The story goes on, the way it really was: they start reqruiting an army of slaves :)

If you enjoy naked, sweaty men grappling each other, this is for you. Full frontal nudity: Crixus standing there while a patrician Roman woman inspected his goods was a little too much. Shaved pubic hair and the black skin of his penis is a sure indicator of steroid abuse. We have characters alternately speaking like Shakespeare and then hurling obscenities as if they were on a inner city bus after the local ghetto school was let out. Soft core porn of men doing women, men doing men, and women doing women and you pretty much see what this is really about. Extremely phony fight scenes where gladiators fight on after losing 40% of their blood... This has nothing to do with Spartacus - it's just a revolting exploitation vehicle. I stopped watching it. What's up with the signature scene, appearing in each episode, where a gladiator gets whacked in the face, his head spins around, and a pint of blood splashes out of his mouth? Then he always continues as if nothing had happened, without so much as a swollen lip.
judging from these observations i'll skip this one too (the misplaced soft-core pr0n exploitation didn't help either)

its sad that Andy Whitfield died.. I loved the first two seasons of Spartacus. Will watch this season in its entirety when its over. I love the raw unmitigated feel of the show.

It was a sad loss but the show must go on.I have a feeling they will concentrate more on the Crixus,Gannicus,Spartacus,Oenomeus quartet than rather just the main character as they did in the first two seasons.
