That is some gun she packs. Seems almost unbelievable for anyone being able to carry such a large gun and it's outline under her open coat does not show nor give any impression of it being there.

lets play a little with associations:

living in a place for some length of time

the dispensing or receiving of reward or punishment especially in the hereafter

The human race’s last and only hope, Alice

w(ho)tf is alice? the unlikely awakened hero(ine) following the elusive rabbit into wonderland (not working for the human race, naturally)

culminating in a mind-blowing revelation that will force her to rethink everything that she once thought to be true.

let me guess, the umbrella corp. (notice the similarity with supranational organizations) was actually trying to save humans, the t-virus (notice its cross-shaped appearance) was a natural part of their bodies (mutated into/towards malignancy due to, lets say, environmental damage, caused by humans ofc) which then began:

transforming the global population into legions of the flesh eating Undead.

notice that the population is already flesh-eating (though not human flesh), comes in legions (behind a country, an organization or an idea), close to undead (translates as: zombified)

Alice must fight to survive long enough to escape a hostile world on the brink of oblivion.

fight to survive long enough? either that or become a zombie
to escape? not working for the human race, naturally
hostile world? sure, since she's not zombie-compliant (or group/system compliant)
on the brink of oblivion? interestingly, regardless of the outcome: if she stays its zombie-oblivion, if she escapes its the memorial one, if given a sufficient amount of time its a guaranteed outcome

The countdown has begun.

it has begun a long, long time ago

anyways, resident evil series consists of pretty bad movies, maybe only the first one might pass as bearable...for better movies with m. jovovich see:

A Perfect Getaway (2009)
Zoolander (2001)
The Fifth Element (1997)
