Installation:
1. Download and install Vuze (if this is a Beta/CVS update, download the latest NON BETA release) (Vuze : Java BitTorrent Client - Download (http://azureus.sourceforge.net/download.php)).
2. BACK UP YOUR TORRENT LIST! IT IS LIKELY YOU WILL LOSE IT!
3. Optional: If you want to make a backup of your old Vuze version. Go to the install directory and rename Azureus2.jar to Azureus2.jar.bak
4. Extract the files using WinRAR (WinRAR archiver, a powerful tool to process RAR and ZIP files (http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm)) or equivalent to %PROGRAMFILES%\Vuze (C:\Program Files\Vuze) and overwrite ALL files.
5. Run Vuze and Enjoy!
NOTE: For other operating systems simply replace the Azureus2.jar. For 64-bit, portable, and Vuze Plus support read the README in the appropriate package.
Troubleshooting:
Before posting problems please make sure:
1. You have updated Java Runtime Environment (JRE) to version 6 (Java SE Downloads (http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp)).
2. You have removed the Vuze folder in %PROGRAMFILES% (C:\Program Files\Vuze).
3. You have removed the Vuze folder in %APPDATA% (The folder may be hidden).
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Vuze for XP
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Vuze for Vista
4. Reinstalled Vuze using the package from Vuze : Java BitTorrent Client - Download (http://azureus.sourceforge.net/download.php)
5. Re-applied the hack from the downloaded archives.
Warning: Performing steps 2 and 3 will wipe your torrent list and Vuze settings.

I had installed Vuze 4.7 and overwritten the files but when i start the vuze i t showing error message and when i click that it gives following mesage?? any idea??

Well, now I have a question about the portable support
1. Install Vuze and apply Vuze Plus Extreme Mod as usual
2. Extract the portable files for Win64 into the Vuze folder
e.g. Win64\Vuze_Portable.jar goes into Vuze\Vuze_Portable.jar etc.
3. Copy the bin and lib folders from the 64-bit Java JRE into the Java folder
e.g. jre6\bin goes into Vuze\Java\bin
a) Copy the contents of C:\Program Files\jre6 into the Java folder
4. Edit the Path.properties file to set directory preferences
5. Run Vuze using Vuze64_Portable.exe
what's the point of extracting the files for portable support into the installation directory?? If you have to install first Vuze then it's not really portable :confused:
In old versions of VEM it was really easy to have 2 different versions of Vuze running at the same time, each one with its own application, config, torrents directories, but with this new portable support I'm a little confused
BTW the Path.properties file does not have an option to set the configuration directory

Install Vuze once, use the portable forever and whenever you want.
I think copying the SWT.jar file (which can be downloaded separately) is enough to make it run, could be wrong though.

the vuze installation contains some regularly updated files like different jars (swt, log4j...), plugins etc.
If you have to install first Vuze then it's not really portable
after the "installation process" it is portable. you can copy the portable-folder to a usb stick and use it everywhere.

i copied extractration of VPEM_4701-01.zip & VPEM_64-bit_Support.zip to my previous 4.6.0.0 x64 folder
it worked but i only lost downloads info luckily i finished it all...

Spoofing doesn't work ...trackers still recognize as 4.7.0.0

That's defined by the path.properties file. A single dot (as in ".\\torrents") refers to the path you're starting Vuze from.

Did you do that? Just installing the JRE isn't enough.

i look at task manager , while i was clicking azureus.exe , i saw azureus.exe closes himself nicely in seconds.

that "i" you have there, is it the Turkish "i" or a normal "i" ?
perhaps Vuze doesn't like it ?
I think you can try running Vuze in Sandboxie to confirm, since Sandboxie will create English directories.

there isn't anything "new". the installation process hasn't changed for years...
- install vuze
- make sure vuze is running
- unpack hack to the vuze folder
thats it. 100% bulletproof.

i think you've made one of the two following mistakes:
- wrong java version, if you have installed both, make sure java64 is set as default (windows path)
- wrong swt version.
btw. if you run vuze over cmd (java -jar Azureus2.jar) you will see a more detailed error message e.g. "Cannot load 32-bit SWT libraries on 64-bit JVM".
How about searching a bit before you ask :wwink:

overwritten old azureus.config & tables.config >>> that's now ok for me.
i just prefer next time folder package VUZE HACK would be better for all i guess...

When reverting back to original azureus2.jar, boots up fine.

3. go to applications folder and right click vuze ----> show package contents
4. navigate to contents-->resources--->java
5. copy all the files from step 2 to this folder

I'll follow that. I'm using windows mostly but i want use download station with minimum system requirements and pc will be more stabil.
Thinking about freenas too but i'm not sure if there's working stabil torrent client (I mean with cheat mode. fake upload etc.). I get used to undetectable usage hard to change OS now.
Hi, at first it want you to congratulate to your great mod, superb work!
But i've encountered a little problem with my headless installation of the extreme mod on my qnap nas (TS-219P II; ARM-processor):
When im adding a new torrent through the AzSMRC remote (WIN7), the torrent will start downloading as usual but i have no chance to set up the fake config through it. Somebody of you knows, if there's a way to edit the config-files through SSH on the server to report a specific amount of upload?
Any help will be greatly appreciated!

okay a dumb question but I can't seem to find the answer on here or google.
How do you backup torrent list.
I backup up the \AppData\Roaming\Azureus\ but as soon as I copied the file from zip into the program files dir I lost my torrent list.
It was just downloads.config and the "torrents" folder, as far as I remember. Azureus does a backup of the config files by default (in this case, downloads.config.bak), you may need to delete it to restore an older copy.
I am having trouble installing this. So I installed 4.7.0.0 for Windows.
I extracted the Mod files into the folder. When I run though, I get Error loading clientSpoof. Anyway to fix this?

That was caused by the now obsolete client spoof plugins as far as I remember. Kill the "plugins" folder in %appdata%\Vuze.
That was caused by the now obsolete client spoof plugins as far as I remember. Kill the "plugins" folder in %appdata%\Vuze.
I only have an Azureus folder, deleted the plugins folder. Still has that issue.
Does that mean 4.7.0.0 just doesn't work with spoofing? My 4.6.0.0 however is still working fine.

Having a weird problem where swarm speed isn't being detected on some torrents I'm seeding. I know they are active because They have peers and a few torrents I'm connected to peers but even real upload isn't going. any ideas? NAT is fine and some torrents are working correctly.

The problem consists in the fact that I connect to only one seeder and some leechers so I get a very crappy download speed.

Now the 2nd problem is that on BTN when I try to download files with option "Show you as a leech (0% Done)" they started spotting me and I'm actually being seen as downloading something without seeding it enough. Helps dudes please.
Musique01 in the options for Vuze, look for it, there is an option to not connect to seeds when seeding. Unclick that option and save, so when you are shown as seed you still download from seeders.
When you do not unclick this option, you will not connect to seeders and you will not download much.

The thing SomeGuy posted could help, but in general it's like I commented on that link. Trackers only give you the IPs of leechers if you claim to be a seeder. In a non-cheating scenario, this is very good both for you (better chances of uploading) and them (smaller database impact and bandwidth usage). Here, not so much.
Well, it was good 'till it lasted... :). Now I have to try other strategies. I know that on BTN a torrent should be seeded for 24h, but I'm lazy and my Comp is slow to have time to seed properly all torrents.

Vuze has automated ghostleeching (great and logical addition from ghostfucker), so you needn't know anything other than what settings (http://www.sb-innovation.de/f59/tutorial-about-vuze-extreme-mod-all-settings-explained-13781/) to use.
I have followed the steps a couple time over (as well as the troubleshooting steps and I get no "hacked in" options

I think that running the mod under 64-bit required you to use a 32-bit JRE. Have you tried that?
And you mean Leecher Mod B29 by Smasher? That's legendary. But also very old, and that's why you can't use it anymore.

64bit os -> 32bit jvm -> 32bit swt
64bit os -> 64bit jvm -> 64bit swt

If you use "Add + Flash", essentially it is flashing. Otherwise, it's just injecting extra fake upload to whatever will be reported.
oK so what about this injecting, how safe is it ? If I for example upload with slow speed and decide to add 300 MB ? Will admins be able to spot it somehow ?

Essentially it's the same as if you used a higher speed that achieves the same total amount of upload. Let me give an example:
* If you use a fake upload speed of 40 KB/s over 45 minutes, that amounts to 108 MB.
* If you use a fake upload speed of 40 KB/s and add 300 MB with the kicker, you end up reporting 408 MB. The tracker sees a total speed of 151.11 KB/s, because that's the average.
This is feature is more useful when you're aiming for a specific amount of upload.

If you have to ask this, you're probably better off using Speed mode++ :wtongue: It depends on the tracker as usual.

40 * 45 * 60 + 300000 KB = 408000 KB.
Now divide that by 45 minutes, of 60 seconds each
