Looks like a movie most obviously about a man vs. wolf theme which is a bad theme for a movie IMO. Most wolves being in the wild, I'm inclined to believe would stay away from humans considering their history. Humans are the actual predators having wiped out hundreds of species of animals on the earth while animals such as wolves, albeit being carnivorous, would more than likely only attack a human if it threatens it's young. Most of the time, wolves are quite timid around humans and usually will avoid any kind of interaction with people. And even then when it is known that wolves attack any kind of person the relativity of said incident is pretty rare. There might be some history of wolves attacking people in old times in Europe and early North America but even then those incidents were probably involving encroaching upon the wolf's territory. Much the same can be said even today with the continual developments involving concrete and glass that are seen here and there. Is it any wonder that wolves find themselves being exterminated and hunted down because of some myth that's been propagated throughout history that they are evil beasts when quite literally, research shows an incredibly intelligent and social animal. When film-makers like for this film, it only propagates that myth even further having the viewing public believe that wolves are a threat and danger to people when quite literally it's actually the opposite.
Not a very good theme for a film. Most especially when everywhere you go, you hear calls for environmentalism and saving the environment in it's various forms.

looks kinda silly with neeson mimicking the wolf claws, becoming the human wolf version, trying to beat the wolf at its own game...not to mention unrealistic, from the crash scenes to the unrelenting & exaggerated animal opponents

@SealLion:

Humans are the actual predators having wiped out hundreds of species of animals on the earth while animals such as wolves, albeit being carnivorous, would more than likely only attack a human if it threatens it's young.

every being can be a predator if a situation demands it and if the being chooses to act that way, there is essentially nothing wrong in it or with it, though regarding humans, they do have a wider range of choices and can exercise more conscious control over their actions which includes self-restraint from excessive predatory behavior

wolves would also be inclined to attack humans in times of wolf-food scarcity (hunger, winter) or when 'stumbling upon' a wounded isolated human or upon an isolated human child (easy prey) or when traveling in wolf-packs (increased aggressiveness)

And even then when it is known that wolves attack any kind of person the relativity of said incident is pretty rare.

yes, but only due to the fact that wolves & humans rarely co-inhabit the same areas and that most of the wolves got driven away as an unwanted and certainly occasionally/potentially dangerous & destructive (livestock) 'neighbor' - these species simply don't co-exist well and one of them has to eventually retreat or significantly change their 'ways'

because of some myth that's been propagated throughout history that they are evil beasts

well, 'evil' itself is a myth - large carnivorous animals simply provide good visual material to support/enhance/diversify it & its image

that wolves are a threat and danger to people when quite literally it's actually the opposite.

i'd say it depends on the situation and the acteurs involved, ie. both can apply

Not a very good theme for a film. Most especially when everywhere you go, you hear calls for environmentalism and saving the environment in it's various forms.

i'm sure this won't do anything to harm the environmentalist tidal wave in-progress, that one will only grow stronger as time goes by, even though its largely based on misunderstood events, weak science, populism, misdirection, etc. however, it makes its activists feel good about themselves (which is very addictive and thus expected to be continued), as if they are changing the world for the better, when they are merely being pawns in someone else's game (as usual)

also, imo movie 'themes' should explore everything they can, though at the same time exercising some restraint, taste & subtlety as well
