I was wanting to know if anyone has ever tried any kind of game boosters and either their success or otherwise with such programs. I came across a game boosting program with the above mentioned title and the attributes that a software like this is supposed to have are listed below.

What are your experiences with either this or other game boosting programs??
Have your experiences been successful in any way??

Game Booster 3 is capable of delivering the best gaming experience to you even if you have an old PC. One-click to boost PC performance is not enough, Game Booster 3 also allows you to tweak your system for top PC performance. By temporarily shutting background processes and unnecessary Windows services, cleaning RAM, and intensifying processor performance, Game Booster 3 concentrates every little system resource for gaming only.

What's new in Game Booster 3:

+ Added "Diagnose"(Game Booster 3 now can analyze and generate a report which shows the weakness of your system that can effect your gaming experience)
+ Redesigned the UI (Now it's simpler and more classic)
+ Redesigned GameBox (Instead of dragging the icon into GameBox, the new GameBox automatically shows you the games in your computer and you can add any games in it by simply clicking "Add")
+ Added "Game Desktop" (If you run games via GameBox now, you don't see desktop and taskbar anymore)
+ Enhanced the detection feature (Game Booster 3 is now able to detect the games on Steam)
+ Optimized Boost module (Added "user vote" features)
+ Enhanced Tools (Driver, Defrag and Tweak)
+ New "Boost" features (You can now edit your own "blacklist" and "whitelist" in Game Booster 3)
+ Added "Forums

Don't ask me where I got the quote from as it's from a warez site and I'm not going to post any links to that. You will have to find it yourself in this particular case.

All the "booster" programs I've seen (and I've tried many) are either placebos, or do very basic stuff such as disabling some services and applying registry tweaks of minimal or no effect. You're much better off tweaking your Windows manually.

Asking money for that sort of stuff is indecent, but if it works for them...

As it sounds, and I always have found that consumer or previous user experience, in this case yourself, has always demonstrated how effective or not a program like this would stand up. Basically it looks like it would be just a waste of time for me to install something like this.

I was thinking that maybe a program like this is like one of those uT booster programs that boast in either speeding up or tweaking uT in some form or other, convincing the consumer they can get a lot more out of their program when in fact very little if next to no effect occurs.
