Hello,

I'm currently a student of Exercise and Sport Science studying at Concordia University in Irvine, California, I will help you find out what sport is perfect for you. What do you want to accomplish? What muscle groups are you looking to improve? How are you motor skills?

I would say, running. It's fairly cheap and easy to do,
and it's a good cardio excersise.

Best for the entire muscle system and circulatory is swimming but it take a lot of time, so a good run is equally useful!

I would recommend to start with simple walking first if you are not fit, then add running, swimming & basketball are two sports that are good for both legs and arms and enjoyable and not aggressive ( I mean safe).

boxing, bro. I lost 12 pounds in a month on boxing training 3 times a week. Mind you, I still wasn't eating right that time. Would've lost a whole lot more if I were eating properly.

besides swimming which is of course probably the best sport for exercise , playing Football for a couple of hours is pretty good exercise for the calf muscles and thighs . Tho it could get pretty strenuous and tiring unless played regularly and becomes a habit .

I prefer going to the gym. It's hard the first week but after that you will love not only the fact that you will feel healthy, but you will also look good in a couple of months which will help you a lot.

Running is good. Also a fast paced walk is good if you are lazy :P

Too much running is not good. Running outside on asphalt concrete gives even more pressure to your feet.

Can't really beat soccer/football, unless you're trying to build lung capacity, then swimming is a good way to go.

Definately swimming! I run 6 miles every other day and yet I find I'm tired of swimming after a maybe 100 feet or so. Not sure how people do it...

I'm biased and say running. Other than that circuit training is an excellent all-rounder. I have to pay extra in my gym membership for swimming so I stick to circuit training haha

There are number of sports for this purpose. In my point of view, swimming, cycling and football are most important for this purpose.

I'm biased and say running. For exercise? What is running going to do for your arms, shoulders?
I say swimming. It's also very relaxing, sort of my weekly meditation. I also started driving pretty much every distance with my bicycle. Often it's faster than the public transport and when it's not it isn't that much of a difference (~10% longer). But while I'm sitting in the public transport, I basically do nothing and while I'm cycling I'm doing sports at the same time. Way more efficient.

Amen to this, except that I try to walk as much as possible (depending on the danger level of the particular location :wtongue:).

Not every person's body is the same. Some require cardio, others weight loss, others increase muscle mass and it goes on and on. As for the games I suppose each has it own advantages. Running helps you build stamina and leg physice, swimming get you a swimmer's physice, stamina and better breathing technique. Get my point.
