View Full Version : [FTP] The fastest FTP client for uploading?
I'm looking for something faster than Filezilla if possible. Also if you know tweaks to make it use 99% or more of my upload bandwidth please share:biggrin:
I'm looking for the Bitcomet of ftp transfers ( funny, bitcomet supports downloading via ftp:wgrin: but not uploading:whmm:)
For very high-speed connections, you should look into increasing the upload buffer size.

Cuteftp will give you Invalid upload values , try flashfxp (http://www.filesonic.com/file/178578682)

I already did that and the problem is that it's for downloading not uploading so it doesn't help me very much.
every program that can handle the ftp protocol properly should give about the same results

Any reasons? I mean I will but why should I?
What Instab said. Try TCP Optimizer if you want to squeeze every bit from your connection. It's not magic, but it can speed things up sometimes.

Will Give you Real Values Of Upload , Max Upload of your connection(all ftp clients will) , have some great features you can check them out on the official website
True about all ftp giving max upload but I'm using utorrent at the same time, upload limited to 1 Kb and still I only get max 230-235 Kb upload from 250 available. want it to squeeze everything out of it:lol:

but some programs like cuteftp just give a false upload speed & time

Then close uTorrent and every other network application.
Also, remember that even if your ISP provides 250kB/s up, it doesn't mean you'll get exactly that every time. It depends on some other factors.

True too. For now I;m getting 230-240 Kb with ut on and just 240 with it off so just 10 Kb are not really a big deal. If I manage to buy a laptop from a friend of my cousin I'll keep it on 24/7 but for now it will cost me too much to keep my pc open for so much. Plus it's the noise...

your connection can't be stable sometimes you may get 250 others 230,220 , still in the right range but if the speed dropped to 100 you can call your ISP.
try to open 2 files to upload & see what's the total speed
If I manage to buy a laptop
FTP... buying... it all makes sense now! :gninja:
Plus it's the noise...
Do you have a Thermaltake Big Typhoon fan or something? My PC doesn't make too much noise.
but if the speed dropped to 100 you can call your ISP.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure they're really going to bother. :gtongue:

I wouldn't do that unless passing a single file at a time is slow.
I have used quite a few FTP clients.. and I must say FlashFXP is truly the best.
I use it for my PS3 jailbreak games too and nothing ever gets corrupted.
flashfxp is the best ftp client hands down - plus, it supports fxp! say no more!
