View Full Version : Are we one of the largest trading sites on the net?

According FSF, yes.

SB-Innovation, one of the largest trading sites on the net, provides a standard listing of the tracker levels. Keep in mind that the higher the level, the harder to obtain the tracker is, and the number in brackets next to the name is the overall rating on the tracker.

SB-Innovation.de — A general all-purpose filesharing board, SBI is German-based but has attained quite a following among English members. Besides being a forum that supports the discussion of ratio-cheating BitTorrent clients & uTorrent mods, SBI has a popular invite trading section that’s open to everyone (including Google).

so...you have over 1/10th of the total forum posts...?

anyway if you say it isn't popular then how many posts per day are made in a 'popular' invite trade forum?

Just look at FST's trading area, that's a popular trading forum.

I wasn't there in 2007, so I can't compare it with its supposed "golden days", but there's still a lot going on there, I think.

Just look at FST's trading area, that's a popular trading forum

but is it safe?

popular means you're going to get attention from all sides

not that I doubt sbi gets the same kind of attention too but it is different with a forum that has 50 posts in the trading sections per day and a forum that has 50 per month for example

anon
10.10.10, 23:41
but is it safe?

Well, they've yet to shield themselves against Web bugs. So I guess not too much.

you mean the type of thing that if you write your email in public you're doomed to face hundreds of emails telling you just where to buy viagra, drugs and rolex watches at the lowest price available?

or are those spambots? I don't really know the terms when it comes to bots and stuff

I was talking about invisible IP-catching pixels.

donkeykong
10.10.10, 23:51
you mean that some tracker owner could inject some code to fst to make it so it reports back to them the IP of everyone that accesses the page?

I've probably accessed it some times through google, heck I even had bookmarked a utorrent troubleshoot thread and nothing's happened

I'm not saying it happens 100% of the time, but it's possible.

donkeykong
10.10.10, 23:57
heck, I've spent some time looking at sites' source codes (yeah I know, I have no life) and I've seen 1x1 pixel images and other stuff I could not comprehend, does that mean they all could be things like this?

anon

Not always. There are legitimate uses for 1x1 images, also.

but I run opera with blockit, it will show up as a script won't it?

which means that as long as I don't run site scripts I am ok

It won't.

donkeykong
11.10.10, 00:09
that's nasty, so how can you protect yourself besides proxy if not disable/block scripts? set your browser to not load images/frames?

anon
11.10.10, 00:10
set your browser to not load images/frames?

Right... there's little that can be done if the forum's administration doesn't take the necessary measures, as it's the case here :gsmile:

donkeykong
11.10.10, 00:22
then you're basically crippling your internet browsing 'experience' because of some admin's incompetence...

I don't like anyone knowing what sites I visit, not just about the private tracker scene, I mean in general, that is a very big invasion of privacy and I hate any invasions of privacy

interesting...I could talk more about this but I guess this is kinda spamming the thread since it is primarily to talk about the fsf article so I'll stop

What about something like the firefox addon https://www.requestpolicy.com/, this blocks cross site requests, which is what I understand you are referring to but maybe not?

anon

As an Opera user, I wasn't aware of that addon. It may work.

I don't think we are the biggest trading site on the web.Maybe just the safest like somebody here said( SBCheater).

I would say we may not be one of the largest trading sites, but we are one of the best, if not just the best.

Actually, if I were a tracker staff, i would prefer users to trade here than anywhere else:lol:( not that I would agree with trading or ever make users beg for an invite or stuff like that).

Although i think more than Trading, Support in terms of Mod/Tools increases the exposure of this forum. Besides the interface (template) is nice, which always helps ;-)

SB-Innovation, one of the largest trading sites on the net, provides a standard listing of the tracker levels.......

Aren't we awesome:biggrin::cool:
...er...yup.

I mean, we're only #3 on the list after FST and BTRACS, yes??

And just as a side not to all readers of this thread, don't forget that if you trade, there is a middle-man service available here.....that's never been used....yet, that is.

So according to FileShareFreak it is not leecher forum at the first place(anymore). It is mostly filesharing and invites trading forum.
Tracker level lists existed apart from this forum initially it was a lot of matherial just copy pasted here and then improved.
There are funny comments under article written by people with slightly different opinions:
What.CD staff is pretty quick

01 • IMPORTANT Says: 10.10.10 at 1:57 pm
Important: Budda’s Son, remove the SB-Innovation link, as What.CD ban users’ who have visited SB-I in the past, regardless of whether they are a cheater, trader or even a member.

Rest is about SBI and trading/ trading forums promotion on FSF. :klatsch_3:
Definitely worth reading maybe more than even article itself because so to speak we know those forums...
