I borrowed 50 us $ from a friend and another 50 us $ from another friend now i have 100 $ then i bought t-shirt cost me 97 $ the rest money 3 $ then i back 1 $ to each one of my friends the rest i have only 1 $ and i owe to each of them 49 $ ,49+49+1=99$
where the rest 1 $?

Actually you borrowed $48.5 to each friend but your giving back money from the debt :biggrin:

because the T-Shirt cost you $97 and 97/2=48.5 then you back $1 to each

and (48.5 + 48.5 )(debt)+(2)(money back also debt)+(1)(money you keep also debt)

(49.5 +49.5 + 1 )(debt) = 100(debt) :top:

yeah took me a while to see it but Blocker's right..
consider your borrowed money as 2 different money pots.
1: 97$
2: 3$

you want to give them their money back so you start with the 97$ first, and split by 2. it comes out 48.5.
you then take the 3$ and give each 1$ from it. 49.5$ each.
now you're left with 1$ and 49.5$ each and that's it.

got me thinking in the morning.. very good one!
