So, here's a nice client using the ABC codebase:

ABC_OKC has been developed based on Choopan Rattanapoka's first ABC to focus on :
- making a better and constant use of your available upload bandwidth to maximise
your upload rate while keeping other network applications working,
- automating the setting of parameters for each torrent at torrent loading time,
- dealing with almost dead torrents to get the best chances to terminate them,
- automatically managing downloaded data and torrents when completed and finished,
- opening to other applications or scripts through command line and automated
directory scanning for torrents,
- providing a quick access to the most used features in a few mouse clicks or
shortcuts.

It has a great deal of features, including DHT, Protocol Encryption, UPnP, and built-in client spoofing! It's not a great as you'd think (you can only edit your User-Agent and peer_id), but since this is based on ABC, which is in turn based on BitTornado, you can set the U-A to BitTornado/T-0.3.18 and use a BT peer_id from the RM's memory reader:

http://www.sb-innovation.de/attachment.php?attachmentid=5663

The announce will then be almost flawless - the info_hash issue is still there. But at least you can take this new client for a joyride on your favorite tracker with weak scripts now. (Don't use the peer_id in the pic!)

You won't find the homepage for this because:

The French law DADVSI, to please some private interests, has criminalized the spreading of P2P softwares in France, even if they are free or open source. This law simply aims at killing the development of file sharing softwares in France.

But I have attached the program, and here (http://merapi.dyndns.org/abc/)'s a site with the full changelogs and help file.

Nice finding.Just wondering. This means faze mod is back??

Faze is based on LH-ABC. Porting it to this would mean a lot of work. Not to mention I don't even know if the source is available.

First post updated with the latest experimental and stable versions. This client is being actively developed. As always, you can go here (http://merapi.dyndns.org/abc/) to check the changelogs.

Cheers to "Lab" from FST for the tip-off about this client.

3100 series introduced PEX functionality among other improvements.

Warning :
Don't install ABC_OKC and ABC or LH-ABC in the same directory.

If you get some Windows error messages when starting ABC_OKC read the file
MissingMicrosoftDLL_Readme.txt.

txt file contains detailed changelog.

ABC OKC reached 3100 final stage. I can not get it now due to paranoia of the coder. Posted only changelog. If you will be more lucky post program and it's source here.

New version

Bugs fixed for this release
- The problem of ABC_OKC not exiting with wxPython 2.8.11 was not a bug in
wxPython 2.8.11 ; it was caused by an undocumented change of behaviour from 2.8.10.1
to 2.8.11 when using the tray icon.
- When exiting the final window could be closed with Alt+F4.
=====
New features and improvements for this release
- Switched to wxPython 2.8.11.
- Switched to Python 2.7.

The next major step in releases could be a 4.0.0 with support for IPv6 in DHT.
But author not yet in IPv6 so it could take some time...

Minor improvements for this release
================================================== ======================================

- When DHT is running and for not private torrents, the tracker connection timeout is
always disabled. Keeping this timeout active in such a case does not make much sense
because new peers may always connect through DHT and this timeout would interfere with
these connections. To sum up we take into account the tracker timeout only when the
tracker is the only way for the torrent to get peers.
This improvement will be also included in the final release 3.10.9.

WARNING :
This release has not been tested with an IPv6 connection (I'm still in IPv4).
So it's very likely to be buggy about network connecting. If you meet bugs with IPv6
enabled, report them in the ABC forum and disable IPv6 in ABC_OKC.
Final release 3.10.8 is totally compatible with 4.0.0 test and may be re-installed and
run after having run 4.0.0 test.
AFAIK this 4.0.0 test release is working fine when connected in IPv4 with the IPv6
option disabled.

Have fun !!

I think the source code used to be in the same directory as the changelogs, Lab from FST even mirrored it to MU along the binaries. No idea of what happened.

It seems to me that ABC_OKC developer is suffering from mixed DADVSI (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DADVSI)/HADOPI law (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HADOPI_law) bipolar disorder (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bipolar_disorder):

ABC_OKC 400.0.455 build

- There was a bug in the fix introduced in the previous release. This bug prevented magnets for single file torrents from correctly loading their metadata.

Yuppy

ABC_OKC 4.0.0 build 457 test

Bugs fixed for this release
- A very rare problem with data you have probably never come across :
When data were asked to be moved or deleted for a magnet with a still unknown data
destination and if a torrent with the same data destination name as the magnet name
existed in the list, the data of this torrent were wrongly moved or deleted.

Yuppy
27.11.10, 23:18
ABC_OKC 4.0.0 build 460
26-11-2010

Bugs fixed for this release
- When a magnet was set to on-hold status while it was downloading its metadata, it
could prevent other torrents from starting, keeping them in waiting status (Resuming
this torrent would unlock all the waiting torrents).
Now magnets having not yet received their metadata are not considered as alive
torrents and so they can't be set to on-hold status (but they are counted in the
number of running torrents).
In the same situation for a manually paused torrent, I keep the behavior consisting in
blocking the other torrents that were in waiting status.

Minor improvements for this release
- Some improvements in the way of checking for free disk space when pre-allocating and
when several torrents are in the waiting status.

New Year Update :D

ABC_OKC v4.0.0 build 472
28-04-2011

Bugs fixed for this release
- A traceback could occur when exiting ABC_OKC (due to the changes in build 470).

New features and improvements for this release
- Changed management for memory used by piece buffers when accessing disk.
Memory usage should be more stable throughout long sessions (several days or weeks
long).
- Switching to wxPython 2.8.12.0.

Minor improvements for this release
- None

WARNING :
This release has not been tested with an IPv6 connection (I'm still in IPv4).
So it's very likely to be buggy about network connecting when working with IPv6. If you
meet bugs with IPv6 enabled, report them in the ABC forum and disable IPv6 in ABC_OKC.
You can always switch back to the final release 3.10.16 if needed.
AFAIK this 4.0.0 test release is working fine when connected in IPv4 with the IPv6
option disabled.

Hello everybody !!
My first post here.
ABC 2.6.9 was my first BT client many years ago.As it's was buggy and his development stopped i 've turned towards uTorrent 1.3. Actually i've stucked on his 2.04 version which is according to me the best uTorrent version. But last week i wanted to come back to ABC and i found that the ABC_OKC was still alive. This is where the developper post his releases : http://merapi.hd.free.fr/abc/
Have fun !

Hi and welcome! I remember uTorrent 1.3, I switched to it from Shareaza on 2006. But most people used BitComet back then!
