Together, they begin preying on the indulgent upper class to correct injustices under the sheriff.

Hmm I was hoping this will be some kind of comedy.Nevertheless it's good to see another side of the robin hood legend.
Russel Crowe and Ridley Scott are a good director/actor combo, have followed all their films together and think this will be a good one also. Looking forward to this one.

If it wasnt for his idiocy Russel Crowe should have been awarded an oscar for his performance in A Beautiful Mind. Too bad, he was good.
Robin Hood a movie? The cartoon will be always the best.

The combo of crowe and scott is no doubt great but from the trailers, this movie doesn't look polished enough.
let's see what they'll make out of this.
good actors, trailer looks good.
don't think it'll beat the amazing cast of the 1991 movie with Kevin Costner and Morgan Freeman.
Agree, my favourite Robin Hood movie is still that one!
were there other movies anyway?
I know there was one with Uma Thurman but that sucked
where there other movies anyway?
loads of 'em, take your pick:

agreed, that was a really well done version, with a good main song too - imo the only thing where this upcoming version may surpass the previous one is cgi or reality/brutality
imo, the recommended movies:
Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (1991)
Robin Hood: Men in Tights (1993) (comedy)
btw, in case someone wondered...
Robin Who?
Robin Hood was said to live in Sherwood Forest" has no basis in fact. ...no reason to believe that anything was ever "said" about Robin Hood during the days of King Richard and King John, because there is no mention of any Robin Hood in any contemporary document.
But where had this Robin Hood come from? Strange to tell, he might have emerged from May Day celebrations in France.
Well before Englishmen were enjoying rimes of Robin Hood, Frenchmen were celebrating May Day -- perhaps as a vestige of the ancient Roman festival Floralia, which honored the goddess of spring and flowers. By the 1200s, French commemorations of May Day had become associated with a character named Robin des Bois (Robin of the Wood)...
By the 15th century, May Day celebrations in England had become Robin Hood Festivals, in which Robin Hood presided as king and was accompanied by a queen called Marian. This Marian, too, might have been imported from France. A French drama titled Le Jeu de Robin et Marion had appeared around 1280, and French folklore told of a shepherd named Robin and a shepherdess named Marion. The English Robin and Marian, however, had nothing in common with the French shepherd and his Marion, other than a similarity of names. (See the article "Robin Hood" in the 1995 version of Compton's Interactive Encyclopedia.) In any case, it is clear that the English Marian was attached to Robin Hood secondarily. The earliest stories of Robin Hood do not mention her...

I agree they make a great combo like in "The Gladiator"
Looks promising even though it's a re-make
I recommend watching the comedy first.

That happens more often that you'd imagine. Especially if you often go to the movies with friends. Can't pick them all yourself now, can you :P ?
Especially if you often go to the movies with friends.Well,I don't have a cinema in my town so it's understandable:P

maybe the worst movie of Talented Mr.Ridley
sorry :(
:eek3:
I found this movie really good. It's a nice prequel to story!
In my view Russell Crowe is now too old to appear as the action hero in a movie.
