Thanks. I appreciate a lot the "up4up" feature :top:. But, although I understand the idea (at least, I think I understand it :smile:), the formulation "upload to a client only if you downloaded 1 byte more you already uploaded" remains a bit obscure for me. Could you give a concrete example ?

For a next version: I already have suggested to you to implement a feature allowing different levels of ipfiltering for dl and for ul. After reflexion I think the additionnal layer of security it could provide would really be very interesting. For example, suppose I coul knew all seedboxes'ip. It would be advantageous to allow all these seedboxes for dl, but in the same time to blacklist all these seedboxes for ul, since a seedbox who is leeching is probably not really a seedbox, but a spybox.

Credit hack is a way to steal credits cloning credit identification of a client, hash & rsa. Anyway this do not mean that the client you steal has more credits than you. Anyway use Multi option, cause it's more powerful.

I think what you say could be right. But if they have permission to upload some files, it become no more illicit to download these files from them... A copyright infringement consist in sharing without the consent of rightholder. If the rightholder agrees to the upload, there is no more infringement.

In fact, the system I was sketching could lead to the following dilemma for anti p2p: The only filesharer they could detect, would precisely be the filesharer to witch the rightholders would have given the files, making the download entirely licit.

about up4up. It is a simple check, it checks at the actual state if that client have uploaded to you more than you have uploaded to him: in this case gives him upload slot, else not. Adding a size for upload is not a bad idea, maybe i can do an option for starting upload only if a client has given to us X chunks, where X is settable in the options.

About the ipfiltering question, I've answered in the 1.0 thread.
It'll be coded in 1.2 version, but now I'm working (not too much indeed) on Shareaza. My idea is to add an additiona ipfilter you can load, and that ipfilter will be checked only for the upload. Also I've thought to implement a bit complex country block for 1.2. So this mean that, after i release the new Shareaza, it'd take a while for having the new toxic mod.

I'm not an expert on the matter, but it's them that have permission to transfer the copyrighted content, not you. Although there'd be a loophole for countries where the law allows downloading but not uploading... in that case, as long as you don't upload to them, you should be fine. Your suggestion is then very useful. :smile:

Such a debate could be very interesting. I think the trick about what I was speaking could be efficient even when upload and download are prohibited. At last from a logical point of view (I'm not a lawyer): Even in the case where download were forbidden, someone who gave you something can not sue you to have accepted the gift. The one who gave you something can difficult sue you for having stolen what he gave to you.

Most likely you are using an inverse CS :00000020:

If u read the changelog you can see some features are by Xanatos (neomule coder).
But they are not copied and pasted, but partly recoded.

Predator, I think you should check Google and SBI a bit harder, then collect ALL of your questions and ask them all at ONCE.
I do not mean to be rude, but you are flooding this thread and I honestly think that Sarutobi did more than enough by sharing his work.
I think you can do the extra effort of checking harder and compiling the questions you could not find an answer for, he actually coded a fully featured mod which works way better than most mods.

Dazzle credit - The credit system of the emule dazzle mod
HardMule - It's also an older emule mod, you could also find that credit system in the emule versions of the french leecher crew (like benkei or sins mod).
If i remember correcly, they are both a kind of reverse credit system.


Reverse Credits: (AKA as credit shaping)

Bad feature

* Give a 10x score increase to clients in your download queue (you will be wanting something from them soon)
* penalize NoNeededParts and queuefull 2x (currently they're not needed but they might be in future, upload to them when all other sources have a score of at least 5)
* Give a slight score increase if the estimated waiting time in their queue is low (this will be implemented in the next version)
* Give a slight score increase (smallest) for waiting time, just to be fair.

In effect, the our client will be serving other clients in this order:

* clients we try to download from who we haven't uploaded to anything yet (they'll get 1.1mb for the max ratio), clients with low estimated waiting time for their queue will go first
* Clients who have returned upload and we are trying to download from up to a ratio of 5x
* Clients we're trying to download from but are on NNP or queue full status get 1.1mb
* All other clients we're trying to download from are served upload up to a ratio of 10x
* All clients who have a maximum rating will be served on a first come first served basis

my fakerank is really simple and if enabled send a fake position, instead of the real one, with a value between 8 and 88.

though you have to understand that fakerank is one the most useless leecher feature. Cause official emule and official mods don't care about queue position you give to them. Only some leecher mod with upload protection or upload management take care about queue position.

Time ago it work but now, when I use it, eMule reconnect always the same server. I don't know what is the problem, no idea. This feature work ok because it time ago rotate.

I only updatet Avira Antivir, the free edition to version 10, but I think this isn't the problem.

Set all your servers' priority to normal, and get a fresh server list if that doesn't work.

It's strange cause the connection part looks only at static/non static and priority.
If you look at log can you see if emule try to connect to other servers? Maybe he tries other servers but drop them casue they are inside ipfilter or it cannot connect to them

It might be that the mod always selects the same server for a reason that Sarutobi did not intend to (alphabetically, numerically through its IP) and it always succeeds when connecting.
I will suggest deleting that server to see what happens, or change its name.

PS2: All you know, I am a releaser, and, if I use HardMule + Upload protection I will not upload complete files. If I use Dazzle I will upload also complete files but there is problem with the priority of shared files and I can't use upload protection. If I use Xman + Upload Protection no problem for now... someone have advice to me ? Better Xman + UP, or Dazzle ?

I think the credithack doesn't work. Maybe this mod steals the userhash(preference.dat) but not his key(criptkey.dat). So I have a lot of failed identifications.

I'm merging to 0.50a, I've done almost half work. I still need some days ...

About problem of blocking upload, it happens due to inverse CS and additional leecher settings...maybe for releasing is better to not use Inverse CS cause they are there to leech, maybe u can tweak upload queue for releasing partial or complete files.
Yes ratio has been totally removed.
Reask is not detectable, cause take care of time threshold for ban.
Honestly I've no other reports of failed identifications using credit hack...What other settings are on? Secure ID is on?

Yes you're right, if possible maybe is better fix that block. For releasing is good dazzle credit, because that high score X power release priority work ok, now I fast download and good releasing. HardMule is for leech and hardmule + upload protection you will have really high speed.
About releasing I never used queque options, only friend management for client wich request my releases for better sharing of it, boost 100x + Automatic friend slot.

About Credit Hack: That's work only with really old eMule version, better do not use it !

Yes extended modthief is similar to what you said.
Fakerank do not send fakerank in some cases (I do not remember cause i do not have sources with me now).
Are u sure credit hack is still active?? you can see it when u connect to a new client, cause identid data are sent only on handshake.

I think yes because with credit hack the up/down is not calculated when you stel another hash. And when I have 1 file in download, emule thief 1 hash and don't calculate up/down, simply because you're not using you hash. In any case I will test it better tonight.

About credit hack, I think is like I said now, for that when I upload with another hash, I will not get credit to my hash.
