Paramount breathed a sigh of relief, not that there was any doubt, that Michael Bay officially signed on to Transformers 3 today. And, after conferring with Steven Spielberg, he set an early release date of July 1st, 2011 -- not 2012. He also took a potshot at Megan Fox whom he's welcoming back for T3. This is from Michael Bay's website:

Good stuff, but I think he will keep the formula of poor story/script overcame by super nice, latest generation special effects and costly production costs. Now will Megan Fox be on next iteration after criticizing the one who brought her to fame? Probably so. Don't bite the hand that feeds?

Hope it is not as crappy as TF2.
Pretty low movie with big explosions...but still it lacked a LOT!

Well , i liked the Transformers series a lot...simply because its fun to watch, because these are those kinda movies which can be best enjoyed by turning your brains off for a while & simply accepting the things in front of you.

I am glad that Michael Bay will be again involved :klatsch_3:

I like the big explosions and I do know that when I watch movies like it I do not expect much in the line of plot...just look at Crank 2! LOL it was so entertaining.

yeah, Crank 2 (first part was better but not much) had a crappy story

as for Bay, his top movie was Armageddon (1998) or Pearl Harbor (2001), unfortunately his earlier/later movies never reached that level

as for Transformers, they are entertaining but lack any real depth so they remain among cgi-show-off movies and nothing more

considering my previous review (below), i expect the same (if not worse as sequels tend to be) from the next one

Transformers - Revenge Of The Fallen (2009) 6/10

graphics - very good & quite detailed

story - lame, with shallow solutions (use the parents as a trap, ROFLMAO) & character development on teen comedy levels - stretching that to over 2 hours is just abusive

human military forces are way overrated and above real life abilities, especially the aiming accuracy (for example the missile form the carrier hits the pyramid top perfectly with split second aiming...yeah, right), imo the transformers could have easily overpowered them in a matter of minutes...the autobot AI levels are quite comparable to FPS side-kicks

super secure facility penetrated through the ventilation system? and it has no motion/pressure/temperature sensors, cameras or lasers? give me a break, such script is a joke

overall its worth a look just for the action sequences, everything else is only of marginal importance or interest

I think that Revenge of the Fallen wasn't so good, is cuz there was a strike in Hoolywood right when they were writing a script and they had to make some story!
