I live in China now. This country will face its 60th National Day. So the government blocks lots of foreign sites to prevent us from knowing negative news.

The sites blocked include Gmail,Google,Youtube,Facebook,Twitter, and so on.:eek13: All we can browse now is only some CN sites. So I think I can post a thread at SBI,now, is really a wonder, maybe tomorrow, they will block all the .de sites... ( To believe it or not,Chinese government will do everything even if you think that's impossible. They often watch our chat.If they find some words or sentences that affect their governance, you will be kicked offline at once, just say bye bye to your chat-account,it's banned.:baeh: The more serious situation is you will be visited by the police. That can be a reason why we aren't willing to talk about Tibet and other sensitive things)

I have tried many softwares, like Freegate,Tor,Ultrareach. But they all seem to be no use(blocked by Gov too). All the information they give me is "can't connect to the server" or " can't find the server "...

So help!!! How can I break this damn block? It really brings much trouble to me,I can't check my email , I can't browse Mininova,Gamespot,Gametrailer and even can't see what my friends have told me on Facebook...Life Sux!

These restriction are usually imposed and controlled by international gateway of a country through proxy rules, Here is a short list of the best web proxies skippers online. Some of the ones lower down the list "UN-block" all the popular sites. The only thing is none of them store bookmarks for you.

NdBlocks - ProxyWrek Network (http://www.ndblocks.com/)

Cant Block.Me (http://cantblock.me/)

Web Proxy | Anonymous web proxy, proxy service, web based proxy (http://www.proxeasy.com/)

Evade Filters (http://www.evadefilters.com/)

Guardster Free Web Proxy (http://www.guardster.com/subscription/proxy_free.php)

I hope these link will solve your above mentioned problem. and set you free from all unwanted restrictions.:top:

No, but censorship does.

If you're not using OpenDNS, switch to it now. If you're lucky, the block will be DNS-based (although it probably isn't, they have several methods), and you'll be able to access those sites again.

JAP (an Ultrasurf-like program) has an special setting to reach the anonymizing service via other JAP users for when your government blocks it. Have you tried it?

Or you could even try Opera Mini on microemulator, although it has very limited JavaScript support and only v5.0 recently added tab support.

Check this (http://www.sb-innovation.de/125275-post7.html) post as well.

If you can't download JAP, for example, and want me to attach it here, just tell me.

@anon:
I don't know anything about OpenDNS, I just use default.(it's certainly given by my ISP)
How to set OpenDNS?

And JAP...Its download site is also banned :mad2: I have searched it in wikipedia. It seems much like Tor. Tor has absolutely died here, JAP can survive?

How to set OpenDNS?

Set the DNS server IPs to 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220. You can do this by going to Network Connections -> right-click your connection -> Properties -> highlight TCP/IP -> Properties.

And JAP...Its download site is also banned :mad2:

Sorry for the late reply, I was attaching it

For IRC you could use a SOCKS proxy.

I'd second JAP.

I used that thing extensively in college to get around their draconian censorship and/or monitoring.
