This trick will speed up, increase and accelerate your operating system startup time. Here is the easy procedure to follow:

1. Click Start.
2. Type msconfig in the Search Box field. Alternatively, you can use the Run… command.
3. The System Configuration Utility will appear. Select the BOOT.ini tab.
4. Now, tick the box labeled /NOGUIBOOT, click the Apply button.
5. Click OK.
6. At this point you will be prompt to restart your PC.
7. Click Restart without further delay.
8. After rebooting your computer, a warning message this appear. There is nothing wrong, do not worry. Just click OK and you are done!

Yes, a source would be good too, where the users could get further information how this methods works, etc...

Do you know what this method does? How much does this improve the startup process?
I am asking because I have had some bad experiences with editing something in the BOOT.ini in the past.

It prevents the boot UI (Windows logo, moving bar, etc.) from being shown. It also prevents you from seeing chkdsk's progress, if I'm not mistaken. Handle with care.

So, actually its more like a compromise because when the chkdsk and progress bar isn't shown, you won't see any error reports right?

Yes, you're right with that. That's why I reversed this tweak after having applied it for some time in the past.
