I received a warning about replying to an old thread.
How old is an old thread? because I thought I could reply as
long as the thread is not locked. Also, the rules don't say
about this rule. Also, I did not know that I created a thread
and still need to use Thanks button.

You've been replying to 5-months old threads. Even if there isn't anything about this in the rules, use your head. Specially when it's with spam posts that you bump them.

Oh, and the rules say you should use the Thanks button instead of making thanks posts - and you agreed to them upon registering.
