Well, eMule uses a queue system to ensure file longevity. Some files may take a long time to start downloading, specially if they don't have too many sources. Make sure you've read the beginner's guide (http://www.emule-project.net/home/perl/help.cgi?l=1&rm=show_topic&topic_id=98), are connected to a good server, your ports are open, etc.

I have several feature requests:

Searching kad+global services together like Dreamule do. Each protocol gives some additional results so I always use both but searching one by one really tiring. Also multi search (when you hit search a tab opens and search starts, the second hit to search opens another tab and two search go together. Again like Dreamule do.

Auto removing characters that kad does not accept for example tr12.12 doesn't accept by kad so auto replace . with space would be good time saver (also other characters of course). TK4 Mod can do it.

On transfers section there would be a find box that search inside transfers as we type on the fly, in other words it filters file names of transfers. Dreamule has this function and I find it very useful.

On search box after hit enter, automatic selection of that search word or phrase in search box would help easier typing next search word or phrase.

On transfer panel never seen completed items should be marked with red.

On search panel %0 sources items should be marked with red.
