hello,i am new to emule thing.
Please tell me what steps should i take to download faster? and i dont want to upload anything.....
Edit: unable to start any download,sometimes getting error : speed = minQR

If you're new, read the official beginner's guide:

You're not going to get the same speeds as in ScT, that's for sure. :biggrin: Leecher mods may speed you up a bit, but it is uploading that'll get you credits that can make you advance on other's queue, and therefore download, faster. So please, upload as much as you can. Even though it has sharelevels, ZZ-R is a releaser mod, this means you can tweak it to maximize uploading!

Regarding your error, try a clean install.

The slot limiter is like that of MorphXT:

There are 3 option here: (there is never a limit below 5 slots open..)

No limit. eMule determines the maximum needed connections automatically.
Average uploadspeed / 3 KB. Like the official client, where a maximum number of slots are opened.
Fixed number of slots, 60-255, for high capacity uploaders.

Max Client Datarate: 6 (50kbps per slot) or 12 (100kbps per slot)
Slot limiter/Limit to x slot: 2 or 1

You don't need the zz-rs version anymore because morph4u insert the sharelevels in the normal zz-r release.

I think there's only one aMule leecher mod, and I can't find it anywhere. I think what you want is running these with Wine.

Well, a good measure would be to use a good server list:

Fake servers return lots of garbage search results.

You'll still have to deal with fakes, of course - files that supposedly are one thing and end up being another one (one of those Norton SystemWorks ISOs is an XXX movie!). Butcho's mod has a fake check option to avoid known ones, for example.

That won't work, since eMule != BitTorrent - there's no tracker to report to (although the server plays a similar role). If you want to take advantage of the credit system, upload as much as you can. Don't leech off the network without uploading unless you really need it. :smile:

I'm not a Linux expert, but I think it should.

As you're new to eMule, you could start with the unpacked v1.9 of Butcho's mod (later versions have issues on Wine). It has very good non-leeching features, including the fake check you're looking for.

"Credits" is an abstract term for the amount of bytes you've uploaded to someone else. They are earned, logically enough, by uploading. Taking advantage of them can make you advance faster on others' queues. The official credit system works like this:

There are two different credit modifier calculated:
Ratio1 = Uploaded Total x 2 / Downloaded Total
Ratio2 = SQRT(Uploaded Total + 2)

Both ratios are compared and the lower value is used as modifier. Some boundary conditions also exist:
> Uploaded Total < 1MB => Modifier = 1
> Downloaded Total = 0 => Modifier = 10
> The modifier may not be lower than 1 or higher than 10
