Have you tried the Release Candidate (RC) version of Windows 7? If you upgrade from a previous version of Windows, and choose the "Express" option when installing, your default browser will be changed to Internet Explorer. Needless to say, this behavior has immediately sparked complaints from Mozilla and Opera, and rightfully so, because it's shady at the very least.

Ya, but you can always change it to FF or Opera. Which ever you want.

The setting isn't going to stay permanent.

With windows 7 is media player embedded into the code where you cannot delete it like Vista?
I hated that option...

Well, not too alarming, but not too friendly too, but what were you expecting?

MOst likely it is, Dynamic. I don't think that with Win7 there exists a program similiar to Xplite where the user can remove Windows component like IE or even the media player. Maybe after Win7 is removed, LitePC technologies that make XpLite will, or may have something to offer.

Either that, or maybe check around on google and see if there's anything there.

@SealLion: have a look at this (http://blogs.msdn.com/e7/archive/2009/03/06/beta-to-rc-changes-turning-windows-features-on-or-off.aspx) - seems you'll be able to choose whether to install or not some Microsoft software, IE8 and WMP included.
