To all reviewers and future reviewers:
What started out as an act out of bordom is now flourishing, and so I would like to thank you for documenting and reviewing so many different trackers. Any efforts are appreciated. Though, I feel that some reviews could be better. So I ask you, when you do do a review, tell us everything! Tell us what the tracker is like; what you liked about it, what you didn't like about it, what it tracks etc. Try and make your post as informful as possible, unleash the inner journalist! Having said this, I do realise that each of our reviews is our own personal creation; a reflection of our abilities and styles, some journalistic, others, more factual; and something that should not be shaped by other users. Therefore I ask you to take into consideration what I have said, and to create a review you are happy with.

I would also ask these three things:
1. It be your own work; no copy + pasting from other reviews available on the web.
2. That, in this section atleast, it be written to the best of your English skills. Don't use "u", use "you"! If you can't speak English very well, don't let that limit you; use a translator or write it using your best English. As long as a point is put across you have succeeded!
3. That there be no deliberate duplicate reviews. If you feel a review can be bettered, then create your own, and post it in the same topic, but if ultimately you are going to get across the same points as the one you are trying to better, don't.

Thanks!

Even shit ones can be worth reviewing; TorrentZilla, the lowest of the low, has had better pres than TL, although that's not a great feat, for a low level tracker it is something.

You know, I also think that, at least some, 'shit' trackers may be worth writing a review of.

Though what sort of crappy trackers were you guy's thinking of??

Now I've got to add something here and it concerns the idea that what one may consider 'shit', may not necessarily be the same to another, yes??

Tracker A could be a lower end site to one while it may provide some decent content to another, yes??

In other words, I am of the opinion that it's really a matter of subjectivity in interpretation.

So really, I don't think that it matters what the 'description' may be of the lower-end sites that you guys are thinking of.

More so, the review would be what would be more so important, yes??

@Everyone: pictures in most reviews have been deleted by the hoster. Better use your SB-I albums.

What I want to add on this occasion.

If you can manage to take pics of a tracker where the images have been removed, be it one you reviewed yourself or somebody else doensn't matter, please upload them to your SB-I Album a PM a Mod to replace the deleted images with yours.
But please have a look at the review before, every image should be replaced.
So if for example a review had images of the Browse and Forum please also take screens of the Browse and Forum, otherwise the whole review would need to be rewritten.

Any help is greatly appreciated. :top:

why not make a template for the reviews with all important information and the user opinions can be their own way to describe a tracker, here is an example:

Tracker: Name of the tracker
Tracker URL: xx.com

Category: 0-day/Music (what kind)/...
Number of Users: ~300 000
Number of Torrents: ~225 602

Speed: 5Mbit+ on packs,...
Pre times: ??, around 5 minutes, between x-y, really good,...
Seeding rules: 72h or 1:1, partial seeding allowed,...

Freeleech: only on packs, only when donation requirements are met; for how long,...
Special bonuses: sometimes double upload, credit/points system: how does it work,...

Signup/Invites: closed registration, does it open ocassionaly, are there invites available, how often, is it hard to get them,...

Review:
Give your opinions on the tracker, contents, compare to its 'competition', about staff, users, forums, whatever you think is informative
or interesting (maybe some fun stuff too)

Cheating tips:

General: how fast, what tool, how much is safe at a time/per day; what tools don't work, whats banned,...
Tips for fresh accounts: ...

Screenshots: (be careful not to reveal your nick/stats/time) (upload pix in the SB-I folder because image hosters delete files)

- logo
- categories
- browse section
- forums
- rules
- user classes
- statistics
...

?? stands for 'i don't know' and someone else can update the information

Speed: 5Mbit+ on packs,...Every user's speed depends on their ISP...

Seeding rules: 72h or 1:1, partial seeding allowed,... Seeding rules are pretty the same on all trackers...except for those that are no-ratio.
I think it's better to let each user chose their own template.

slikrapid's makes a nice base, though.

Yeah but most tracker reviews don't have all from slikrapid's list...if we were to accept this template then we would have to delete all:frown:

anon
24.05.09, 23:31
Yes, that's right. I meant for future ones

SBfreak
24.05.09, 23:40

slikrapid

of course, my template is far from perfect, but with modifications it can be used as a broad (not definite or obligatory) guide on what a reviewer can add to his tracker review, as there are a lot of things that can be included

if the reviewer doesn't have some info, others can provide or correct it, same goes for current reviews - any additional info can be updated/corrected with new user posts

may i suggest something:

i saw that somewhere else and i like the idea.
how about making 2 or 3 screenshots of the torrentlist? one sorted by leechers one by seeders and maybe one by snatched.
that would help to get an impression on what's going on there and it would help from a cheater's view.

SBfreak
04.10.09, 20:24
I always made the screenshot with torrents ordered by seeders.
I don't see the need for one sorted by leechers neither for the one sorted by snatches.

that would help to get an impression on what's going on there and it would help from a cheater's view.
In what means?

anon

In what means?

How much leeching activity there can be on that particular tracker, I suppose. But all seeders were once leechers, and if there are a lot of them...

SBfreak

No need for that, every torrent with more than 20 leechers is good for cheating:tongue:

no. many scene releases are cross seeded

every torrent with more than 20 leechers is good for cheating:tongü:

and i've been on several trackers without 20 leechers. that's why i wanna know before i join

On that you're right :top: But they had to leech the releases from elsewhere

what dösn't help me when it's not the tracker where i am.

the point is i like to do the 'show me as seeder' method with shu and that dösn't work when the better leeched torrents are not scene.
