Tracker: TheVault
Tracker URL: TheVault :: Login (http://thevault.bz)
Open Signups?: Rarely. Depends upon number of registered users, invites are enabled
Category: Business related material
Number of Users: ~7000
Number of Torrents: ~17000

TheVault is one of three sister sites of TheBox. As with the other sister sites, this too is a very niche tracker, specialising in tracking business related material. All sites use a similar frontend. As with most trackers, it has basic functions along the top, with basic account information.

TheVault tracks business related material - anything from audio of lectures to magazines to particular authors. There's not much else to it I'm afraid:frown: Most content is in .avi, whilst .pdf and .flv follow. I wouldn't say there are many DVD-Rs.

Because TheVault and TheBox are sister sites, they both have very similar features. Recently a IRC Java Applet replaced the old shoutbox allowing users to interact without hassle. Again there is a request feature - though only about 10% of request are filled.

The forums are very active, but is centred around business and contains much jargon, so perhaps not all may participate. Having said this there is a help section, and a other tracker section.

The speeds are surprisingly decent, maxing out my 4mbit, most of the time. I believe this to be because many honest users have to invest in seedboxes to maintain a decent ratio.

Cheating there is the same as at TheBox. I use Azureus Extreme Mod, no spoofing, at speeds between 20 - 30kBps - I recommend this method to all users here who use TheVault or in future will.

In short, if you are a business - styled person, this is definitely for you, but to the average person, this site is not for them. In my opinion, there is very little content which would be relevant/useful/interesting to the average person. Though, I must commend them; to have 2 and 1/2 times as many torrents than users is a respectable feat.

Hey, when trading TheVault invites, what should I be looking for in return?
On one hand, TheVault is a low level niche tracker, so I shouldn't expec much. On the other hand, I've never seen an invite been given out, so invites are rare; this should up it's value.

Thanks for the tips, i was banned last time because i used RatioMaster (i know, i was n00b). ;)

I'll try with Azureus Extreme and report my results here. I hope they won't find out about my method this time. Regarding the RatioMaster, i have used it successfully on salad & biztorrents, two more trackers specializing in business torrents. On salad, i used to vary my upload speed between 80 and 1000 kbps, with occasional flashes of few gigabytes. The method worked well on biztorrents too, but i made mistake of inserting one digit too much. :)

Anyway, my connection is very unsymmetrical (my DL speed is 40 times larger than my UL speed), and i don't want to pay for a seebox or donate right now.

@splicer

Are there any other methods, or some newer, better methods now that work on thevault?
Also, can i participate in the forums without being afraid for my lif... i mean.. account.

Thanks.

TheVault's scripts watch if you're faking on an inactive torrent (for example, download on the RM), and instaban you if you do so. Cheating on active torrents or using a mod such as the Azureus Hack that downloads the actual files are your best bets. I seem to be doing fine at TV with a <30kB/s fake upload. :top:

classyboy
15.06.09, 19:04
Xtreme mod works well here. While using the same, keep a watch on the average swarm speed in the general tabs. That should give you a hint on how much and how fast or slow to cheat. Use your real upload only, that's the safest way out.

Thanks for the tips, anon & classyboy.

Regarding the instaban, i was always wondering what is this 'insta' prefix for, but i was quickly enlightened by thevault's anti-cheat algorithms. As soon as i connected via RM, i was immediately banned. :D

They are very strict and unforgiving, but their vault is a goldmine.

I'll try azureus extreme tomorrow, and i'll need to find some good tutorials on it's advanced settings; i don't think that basic, default settings will allow me to leech unnoticed in theVault.

anon

That and Waffles's "it appears you are cheating". My TB passkey became invalid the second the RM announced fake download

Regarding the Azureus Hack settings, read this:

Thanks, i'll read that.

Btw, there's one interesting thing that is happening to me on the salad.tl right now. Since my registration, i was cheating with RatioMaster, and while the ratio counter at the top of the screen says that my ratio is 1.6, when i look into my profile->torrent list, i can see my real ratios (0.05, etc...). :D
I hope no one will notice this.

anon
15.06.09, 22:28
The ratio shown at the top is your global one, and the ones in the torrent list the individual ones.

OblivionKing
15.06.09, 22:33
Damn, you're fast.
(MSN autonotifier, or something like that? )

It appears you didn't understand what i have wanted to say. Here's one example:
Torrent1 -> ratio = 0.05
Torrent2 -> ratio = 0.09
Torrent3 -> ratio = 0.06

So, this global ratio should afaik be Avg(T1, T2, T3) = 0.20/3, but it is 1.6.

anon
15.06.09, 22:34

Yes, but traffic from previous torrents no longer shown in the list also counts.

shoulder
15.06.09, 22:38
In very short your global ratio is the sum of all your upload from all your torrents divided by the sum of all your download from all your torrents.

Ok, i was more worried about someone (moderator?) finding about my methods by browsing through my profile.

Back to the topic, i have heard of some guys using GreedyTorrent on TheVault, but i will first try the Azureus Extreme mod, which looks far more reliable and harder to detect.

I was feeling ecstatic as soon as i entered their torrents section and browsed through some titles. Amazing.

But nothing can beat the feeling of browsing through TheVault. The info in there is worth millions, and if successfully employed, it can earn you millions.

---------- Post added at 13:16 ---------- Previous post was Yesterday at 22:49 ----------

Just two more questions... is it possible, and how long approximately would it take to achieve higher statuses on theVault using AzureusExtreme? I've noticed that the best torrents are not downloadable by 'users of my class', like theVault's system would say.

Also, they have very active forums. Is it smart to participate there if you're cheating? Maybe some mod could investigate your profile and ban you.

Thanks.

To become a power user at TheVault, your account needs to be 4 weeks old, and have 25gB uploaded on it, with a minimum ratio of 1.05. Just hang in there, and keep logging in and checking the number of leechers and seeders of torrent. Watch out for pack torrents though, as they may have partial seeders.

The second question you pose is dependant on the site; some sites keep permanent snatchlists, whilst TheVault doesn't seem to do so. Just keep your ratio believable; between 1 and 2 to draw minimal attention. SOme staff at other sites like to spy on their users a lot; What.CD come to mind. If a Mod asks you why you use Azureus, just reply with "I use it on my Linux computer" or "It has more features that I prefer". How prominent a member you want to be is again up to you; generally I would avoid mixing with members on a site if I cheat, as it draws attention to me, but like I said, a snatchlist doesn't seemt to be kept.

If you know how to handle a dupe, create (http://thevault.bz/signup.php) one and test mods on it.

Also, all Extreme Mod versions are based on CVS cores. That isn't an issue.

Having multiple accounts on theVault is a good idea, but, according to their writings, hardly achievable. How should i approach that, my current idea is:
1. Clear all cookies, history, cache and other related files accessible to them.
2. A) Find a proxy, and connect all the time using just that specific proxy?
2. B) Or take advantage of my dynamic IP (although i don't think it's very good idea, as the IP range is limited, and they could easily block my entire range of possible IPs attainable, or, if they get really mad, they could disable access for my whole country. I've heard that it happens often to the eastern guys).

Btw, is this a good vuze extreme config? =>

http://img195.imageshack.us/img195/9947/20090616184019.th.jpg (http://img195.imageshack.us/i/20090616184019.jpg/)

And sorry for all those questions. I must get this thing working.

---------- Post added at 18:44 ---------- Previous post was at 18:42 ----------

Edit: Before someone asks, yes, i've read the descriptions of each of these options. I just need a configuration that works 100% (if correctly employed, of course) on theVault.

anon
16.06.09, 18:53
Yes, they'll of course always say it's not a good idea. TheVault seems to block proxies. Better clear all your traces (or use a different browser) and change your IP before logging in to the second account, and you should be fine. Also, don't run torrents from both at the same time. I think The* trackers do ban whole IP ranges, though.

According what splicer said, your settings look fine. I haven't used the Azureus Hack at TV yet, so I can't give more info. But you may want to untick "add your real uploaded amount...", as it can make you overfake.

I might use google chrome in incognito mode, too. After i reset my IP, of course.
Btw, i'm not sure what i'm doing wrong. This guy (http://www.sb-innovation.de/96659-post14.html) is having some columns in the vuze window that i don't have, such as Fake ratio, Fake UL, Fake ...
(I have enabled the advanced mode, and have set all my views to advanced)

I have installed just the one-click version from here. (http://www.sb-innovation.de/f41/vuze-extreme-mod-sb-innovation-4-2-0-3_b18_ddj-beta-11976/) If i understood the guy correctly, i don't need to install the basic vuze client before this. (Or i should do it?).

classyboy
16.06.09, 19:04
@Forseti, your setting is good. You may want to tick 'Use the swarm's average speed as fake upload speed' for the only reason, it should not happen that there are partial seeders, and the swarm speed is 0 and you are still cheating. However, your 10% seed/peer ratio will actually take care of that, the moment you are connected to less people, uploading will halt. And as anon has suggested, it's better to untick the add fake uploaded amount. Maybe for this site, dont upload, just cheat
These settings are quite OK, continue with that, you should have no problem

Yes, you shouldn't need to do so since all JARs are wrapped into the EXE.

Yes, but in that case the swarm speed (0kB/s) will only be used as a minimum. Using "stop increasing the fake upload..." and not sleeping while using leecher mods are indeed better.

B19 has an option to "stop faking when swarm speed is zero", but it's Members-only.

I have managed to open another account, and i wasn't instabanned... for now. I'm using it to test my settings, but if you guys say they're ok, i guess they will work without any problems... as long as i pay attention to where and how i'm cheating.

---------- Post added at 23:38 ---------- Previous post was at 19:59 ----------

Well, everything is working ok. I've tried Vuze extreme at salad, biztorrents, thebox, thevault, and some other trackers, and i wasn't instabanned at none of them.

Right now, i'm having trouble pumping up my ratio... most often, there are at least 5-6 times as many seeders as there are peers. It seems to me that the best method would be to upload my own torrent, but i don't wanna fake uploading my own torrent. But i guess this cheat thing can be disabled for each torrent individually, i think i saw this feature somewhere.

Yes, double-click a torrent, go to the SB-I Hack Fake tab, and untick "fake report to tracker systems".

Could you please explain to me the story with the exclusive torrents they get from their group-buys?

Do they become available after some time, or is it based on user class, or do they invite you, or only the people that paid in the group-buys have access to them or what?

If this sounds too n00b, thank you

Group buy torrents can be exclusive to certain members, as in, those who have contributed money, rather than only for power users. Then after a certain amount of time they are made public to power users +.

'Business related material' is a rather broad category for this tracker, as noted by everyone above SEO and/or e-marketing is more accurate.

It's mostly useful for webmasters/e-marketers rather than those interested in business in general (i.e Six Sigma, Finance, ERP software etc.)

As far as my knowledge goes, the forum was created sometime in April 2007, although it didn't become active until later. I joined on February 2008 after seeing the place as a Google search result for a leecher pack, but this "credit" stuff let me down. I came back by late April of that same year and began posting, every time a bit more, and that was like, one of the best years of my life :sbi:

When the original RatioMaster's development resumed on 2009, I tested one the new versions on TheVault (which was always open for signups at the time), and after some "mystery" bans, discovered two serious bugs in the program: incorrect info_hash encoding, and not sending the port in the Host header. Talking with Rebound it turns out the latter was already known by him and a few others, but my accidental leaking of a tracker-specific client file I'd written for personal use (see here (http://www.sb-innovation.de/f46/ratiomaster-1-8-updated-sb-innovation-9723/#post75688)) brought public awareness about it, and eventually a bugfix.

Needless to say, RM became a much safer program after both issues were dealt with

Sorry, I got sidetracked. My point is, their scripts were always "challenging", but the upside is that whatever cheating you get away with at these trackers will likely work everywhere else.
