Portable Ubuntu for Windows is a Ubuntu system running as a Windows application.

This system is built with the Colinux Kernel, Xming X server and Pulseaudio server for Windows.

Portable Ubuntu for Windows is a useful tool when you need to move yourself to other machine that have Windows as operating system.

Is this the same thing as the Ubuntu that can be installed as an installer on a Win HDD without the use of a CD??

The Wubi Ubuntu installer, that is.

It seems like it, yes??

No, it's a "portable" version. You can run it and Windows at the same time, as if Ubuntu was just another program. :smile:

oh,....I see. Ok. That's a pretty neat design, then. I'm wondering if, since its run'able' as some software, then, if one could switch desktops too while its running then. That'll be good.

That's actually a different way to use an OS, then. Actually an intelligent design of an OS, I think.

Yes, you can use both Windows and Ubuntu at the same time, if that's what you meant:
